"I don't really miss God,
But I sure miss Santa Claus."
Say what you will about Courtney Love, that's a much better lyric than anything on "Nevermind."
My head hurts. Sinus pain sucks.
I can't stop thinking about that boy. (pic 19.) I think there's a book in it somewhere. I need to collect all the writing he's inspired and see what I can get out of it.
I think I'm going to look into grad schools around here. I like Colorado, but I am sick to death of waiting tables, and in September I'll have been here a year and should be able to get in-state tuition.
I don't want to go to work tomorrow, but my car needs a new tire and Louisiana claims I owe them taxes, and I'm off on Saturday. I must figure out how to set my VCR tomorrow night to tape the Ducks game. I have to see if Jiggy can break that shutout record. And if he can shut out Minnesota for one more game...well, I think he would honestly be the sexiest thing on the face of the earth.
My Czech bartender called me a hockey slut yesteday and told me I was cheating on Tanguay. Does this make me a horrible person?
Guys never understand what it's like to be a female sports fan. They always think I'm stupid and that I don't know about the game. (They should've seen me drawing a diagram for Trent to explain icing and delayed penalties the other night after three martinis.) I'm constantly accused of only liking players because they're attractive. Well, maybe I do stick up for Skoula because he's cute.
But it's also because no matter how many times he screws up, he's still playing in the NHL and whatever guy is talking shit about him is just sitting in a bar watching the game. Anyway, I despise arguing the game with someone who's just going to quote Sportscenter or NHL.com or whatever journalist they read at me. If you don't know what you're talking about, don't bother, because I do and you're not going to get in my pants by telling me that you read on NHL.com that the Red Wings are going to repeat (Tell that to Giguere).
Maybe if there were more professional women's sports publicized in this country, guys would get it. They'd know what it's like to admire someone's skill and find them sexually attractive. But until women's sports get the same level of attention (and pay!) as men's do, you won't find too many men using the word "sexy" at a sporting event, unless it's describing Anna Kournikova (who ruins my argument every time by being a comparatively lousy tennis player.)
The boards just got me thinking...Lesa, of course, had a thread that asked if you would rather be beautiful or sexy, wealthy or happy, rich or famous, loved or respected. Such interesting questions...none of which are mutually exclusive, and all of which I'd like to be. But I had to go with beautiful, because sexy is nice but I'm tired of people who want to get in my pants, and because nothing in the world has ever given me chills like that boy (see above) telling me I was beautiful. I only hope I'm half as beautiful as he thought I was. Happy, of course, is the answer just about everyone went with. I must say, though, that quite a few of my problems right now could be solved with some money. Aside from loneliness, but if I had money I could go visit certain much-loved and much-missed friends. As far as rich or famous....well, I might contradict myself here, but I'd like to be famous--not J.Lo famous, more like Joyce Carol Oates famous. I want you to know my name, but not necessarily my face. Money is nice, it would solve a lot of problems for me, but I don't need to be stupid rich. And well, I would like to be respected, but my biggest problem outside of money right now is the lack of genuine connections here. I know plenty of people who respect me, but it isn't giving me anyone to call in the middle of the night when I want to cry. I miss being loved, being very very important to one person, rather than being someone people talk about in terms of respect. Respect is too distant for me right now. I need close. Love me, please. Kiss me and tell me I'm beautiful and make me believe it. I would be happy, then.

I could also use some cash right about now to make me happy . I see nothing wrong with being obscenely rich .
