Organized and alphabetized my DVDs yesterday -- it is obvious I need another bookcase in which to store them. Especially after the end of this month - the 27th is a massive day of new releases.
Listened to the radio interview I did about The Black Forest. I sounded like an ijit. Gotta get better at that.
Currently, I may or may not go to Cannes. My desire to go is being balanced by my actual need to go and by the enormous expense. But I really want to have the experience and see for myself an audience's reaction to the movie.
I have never really been too concerned about my image or reputation (other than professionally). However, it is now something of which I need to be aware and I have made some decisions recently that have me kicking myself.
I had plans with a different person every night of this past week. All but 1 stood me up or blew me off -- and that person was the one that I have known the least amount of time. What does that say (rhetorical question)?
My agent gave me the suckiest, vaguest notes of all time on my latest script. When I asked her to explain, she talked to me like I was a moron, but she couldn't really answer my questions. I have no idea what to do with it now, re-write-wise.

And re: your recent agent meeting and whatnot, maybe you could start a thread in our group about it. It might be a good way to get feedback, and you never know what positive results might come of it - although it may not yield any results, either, it couldn't hurt, could it?
My take on it is that if agents could write they would. And since they typically can't (and yes, I know there have been a precious few exceptions), their notes are not coming from the perspective of one who CREATES, but rather one who INTERPRETS. It's important to find out what she's trying to say, in case it's important - but it may not be. Hard to tell, huh?
And of course I don't HAVE an agent right now, so what the fuck do I know.
On the personal stuff, I can say that sometimes nice guys get taken for granted. It happened to me all the time for years, which is what prompted me to become a little more healthily selfish with myself and my time. Whether or not this applies to you exactly I can't say, but you ARE a nice guy, so it might. My cardinal rule is don't give yourself away to those who can't or don't appreciate you. For instance, if you didn't appreciate ME as your friend, I wouldn't be telling you this.
Glad you're coming to the thing - it should be fun! I wanna hear all about "Demon" and "TBF" when I see you - and I seriously hope you have a chance to post something to the group. It would be interesting to read about, and like I said: you never know what it might lead to.
