Eep! I just emailed my resum to DWR. They're finally opening a studio in Miami, on Lincoln Road, and even if I don't get the job (and I totally should -- retail experience + love of fine furniture = discounts!), I'll drop by at least once a month to ogle the furniture. Hm. Maybe it's better if I don't get the job. I might start drooling every time I see an Eames chair or Fortuny lighting.

I taped off the walls this afternoon. I'll be ready to paint when school gets out, and I can head on home to paint the trim and walls. The wall color is called November Rain, and that's really weird. When I was unloading my room, I unearthed two GnR cassettes: Use Your Illusion (which features "November Rain") and Appetite for Destruction (which I gave up looking for last month -- I thought it was lost for good). So now I have more tapes to listen to in my car. My car doesn't have a CD player. And it's getting to the point where I should probably get a new car -- well, a new used car, anyway -- because it has 150,000+ miles or so on it, and it will die any day now. Oh, and the trim is called "icing." It has a bit of cream in it, so it's not stark white, which I like. That's going on the trim, the closet doors (which I took down yesterday and plan on painting outside), the closet inside, the door, and the ceiling. I rented a little mini-scaffolding so I don't kill my neck while painting. The November Rain color has a slight tinge of sage green, but it's still very, very gray. I love the color.

Tomorrow, before I come home from school, I'm going to get in contact with the nice lady at Ethan Allen who gave me that free design book. I want to look at the Horizons furniture again, and I need to schedule an appointment so she can come over and assess the space and come up with a good plan for the room. I need two bookcases -- a horizontal bookcase and a tall, vertical slant-back bookcase. I just realized how many books I have. So many. It's incredible. I have stacks in my brother's room. My brother would be freaking out right now if he knew I had his room occupied with my stuff, but I need to put it somewhere, right? I have stacks of books. I could easily have 300+ books. I'm not entirely sure if that's a hyperbole or not. I'm like my father in that way. In the master bedroom, there are eight bookshelves.

I fucking NEED that job at DWR. I want stuff. frown

I think toaster is "going into that field" to sneak sofas out the loading dock! ;^)
I don't picture Eliza Dushku in leather pants singing AC/DC so much as in leather pants playing AC/DC leads on her Gibson SG. But yeah, when I picture that (and I do) it's always in leather pants. That was the disturbing thing about Bring It On; when she didn't have on leather pants. The bikini scene was a let-down...almost...okay...

I bruise my knees on books walking through rooms. One of these days I'm going to get around to building those bookshelves. Glad to see I'm not the only one prone to stacking them in the meantime.

Appetite always comes together for me, as it should, in the second half of "Rocket Queen." When this paen to hedonism turns into a love ballad, well, yeah, I kinda forgive Axl all his problems, even no-showing the concert in December.
