I had the last final of my undergraduate career yesterday. Afterwards, I went out with Lolly, Beta, Vida, and Darling for pancakes at IHoP. And yes, those are all their real names. Don't ask. I had chocolate chip pancakes with a whip cream smiley. I hadn't had that since I passed my driver license test at 17.

But on Monday! On Monday, I saw Kimya...

You've never been complimented on your profile pic? I think it's great. Very simple, but...great. I don't know. I just like it. wink

"He was talkin' on his cell phone in a movie theater! He had it comin'!" Those words just came out of my mouth. And he deserved it. And more. Dickwad.

Okay. Okay. So I went to New York a couple weeks ago. And then I caught a cold on the plane coming back, so I was out of commission. And I have to write a...

Apparently, my brother or father told some Jehovah's witnesses or something that he didn't believe in God. So they came back to bother ME. And I told them, "Well, now, I'm agnostic. So I'm open to the IDEA of God, but I have a paper to write at this moment, so if you'll excuse me." And then I closed the door, because shutting the door...

The new Dionysus comp "Just destroy everything in sight" is pretty rompy stompy...some Japanese dudes covering Radio Birdman is a pleasant surprise when I'm in the Mopin' Morrissey moods. Check it out if you haven't yet.

I trust you've gotten the new Antony & The Johnsons right? I can't even talk about it right now. I'm still at the "I wish I was gay and sad and had a voice like that" mode. It's one of those disks you run through five times a day.

I really need to work "cram it sideways" into more conversations. That was a perfect response to Mr. Stirfry.

Last week, I observed a flock of migrating red-breasted robins making a stopover in the LC parking lot at my school. I heard them before I saw them. There were probably around one hundred of them. They filled the trees and drank from the puddles left over from the early morning rain. It was quite a sight, especially when some latecomers divebombed the ground. They...

Am I the only one who still uses turn signals? PEOPLE. This is how car accidents happen. Quit making me be a defensive driver! I don't like being cut off in traffic. It makes me cry.

I went to Pet Supermarket to buy some Nutro wet food for my baby kitties, and the Cat Network (a local cat rescue network that never, ever, ever, ever...

Lion Video gave me this movie when they were supposed to give me this movie. I asked for "Gohatto," and then I said, "It's translated as 'Taboo.'" I WANTED a movie about gay samurai warriors falling in love with each other. I GOT a movie with Willow's girlfriend from "Buffy" and that dirty guy from "Carnivale" (ha ha, which dirty guy). Check out the...

Hey. You over there. Why don't you donate five bucks here or to any of these other aid groups. If you can afford to be a member of this site, then you can afford to donate. smile

If any of you need some cheering up, Anthony Lane's vicious review of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera is online here. It made me laugh.

There are, quite literally, hawks circling the skies in my neighborhood. They've been here about a week. I suppose they are stopping here for a little while before they move on. It's unseasonably warm right now. According to the Weather Channel's website, it is 81F on Christmas Eve in Miami.

Regardless, the hawks' presence is all rather ominous. They're great, gliding birds. Majestic. They swoop...

Crichton just wrote some propagandist novel (with footnotes!) saying that global warming is propaganda. whatever
cheech:
It was in the book reviews of the last Sunday issue of either the NY Times or Wash. Post, if you wanna look at it.
One of the things shown from the book was a chart of the last century's temperatures from New York City and Rochester (or was it Albany?). Crichton was arguing that, while large city temperatures have climbed, small city ones haven't.
I don't necessarily see this as comforting, though. I mean, I'd previously seen a documentary show on the fact that Atlanta's incresed size and asphalt coverage had affected weather in the city's region. How we are to be comforted by the knowledge that "Oh, global warming isn't caused by emissions, but, uh, well, increased building will affect temperature" -I DON'T KNOW, seeing as buildings and roads occupy more and more room everywhere on the planet.

Also, the point is moot- we will definitely need non-oil-based transportation in upcoming decades, since oil will run out in (conservative estimate) 80 years or (more realistically) less.... so why anyone would want to shill for oil-based industry (besides the current administration), I don't know.

Yay! I'm on the Dean's list again! Even though this fucker gave me (and, hell, probably the majority of the students since I was 10 points above average on the last two tests) a fucking goddamn C. Oh my god! I'm on a mac computer!!! It is mine. It is pretty! The... text is small. What up with that? I haven't used a mac since grade school, and I mostly used that for Printshop fun and Odell (the fish game) and Oregon Trail. Everything looks so small in Safari. I'm getting eyestrain. CRAP. And I need to adjust to this keyboard. I'm...
