Leonora Carrington died yesterday at 94. She was the last of the original surrealists and she had still been painting all these years. I saw a beautiful retrospective of her work in Chichester only last year. I feel so sad when miraculous people leave the planet. One can't help but be worried that there isn't another being capable of replacing that magic here.








I should post some paintings too but I find images of her just as interesting. I love the portraits of her with Max Ernst, they're so touching.
