Dammit, the ex called today. I picked up the phone without checking the Caller ID and she said "Hello. Are you trying to get ahold of me?" I had to swallow my anger yet again. I mean, I'm guessing she's acting like she didn't get the message, but now she's pretending that I do want to talk to her? WTF?
So I just hung up. I know that wasn't the best way to handle it, but it's getting too hard to hold my temper, and I've worked so hard to keep my temper this whole time that I didn't want to fuck it up now. I sent her an e-mail recapping the message I left; I really wish she didn't have her phone turned off that week, because I'm still regretting just not telling her in person while I was still 100% in control of my emotions. It burns at me that I didn't tell her off, but I know in the long run I'll be glad to just have brushed her aside and not having any messy drama to wade through. But the plan depended on her respecting my wishes and leaving me and daughter alone. Why the hell won't she? I mean, for someone who just lied and cheated on the last person she was with, she's getting off easy: I won't be coming to the town she lives in anymore for any possible awkward accidental meetings, I clearly stated that I was dropping the matter so that any fears of retribution could be put aside, and that I wouldn't say anything to my daughter or anyone else that would be slanderous. What more could a lying, cheating sack of shit ask for?
Fuck, this ruined a perfectly good day. I blocked IM and e-mail from her, and I may just see about blocking her number. I just want to stop hearing from her or about her so I can move on with my life. I just want to put this behind me with all the other memories of getting screwed over by people. Is that too much to ask?
