Wow! I just discovered an absolutely killer Firefox extension called GreaseMonkey. It lets you write client-side Javascript to "remix" any website and make it work the way you want. I played around a bit and added one feature to SG I was missing: a quick reply link! If this kind of stuff doesn't make you want to switch to Firefox, well, I feel sorry for you.

This version displays an inline comment box for replies directly beneath the comment you're replying to.
You will need Firefox obviously, and grab the GreaseMonkey extension from http://greasemonkey.mozdev.org/
Then install my script by right clicking on this link and choosing Install User Script: SGJournalReply.user.js
