Yeah, I see how that format works, and it's different. That's more of the traditional "synergy" marketing strategy where today's up and comers and uber-hipsters get mixed up together, and TV show soundtracks are part of the deal and the songs feature prominently in the show. This one's different in that it's not synergy-driven, the songs don't feature prominently at all (and there are plenty of them in every episode), and as so far been seen the show's development hasn't called for soundtrack CD's. However they manage to pull it off, I applaud it, it's done subtly and adds more depth to the story and characters (however outlandish they may be).
But getting back to animated programming, I've heard rumblings from some people who worked on Futurama that Fox and Groening are talking about reviving that show, as they did with Family Guy...
