Illinois native and underground comic book artist, Jessica Abel took a big chance when she moved down to Mexico for two years. The Fantagraphics alum hung with journalist expats in the Mexican art scene for two years and even though her adventures are long and storied she created an original story set in Mexico for the book La Perdida. It is about Carla, an American...

La Perdida is an awsome story and Art babe kicks ass too.

La Perdida is a wonderful story, and I was incredibly impressed by how the plot unfolds so naturally and believably. I really felt for Carla's situation. Thanks for the interview!
Michael Showalter came to fame along with the rest of his sketch comedy group, The State, in the early 90s when they went from performing for other NYU students to having a show on MTV. Since then each member of the group has gone to many other great comedy works. Theyve created television shows, written and directed movies. Showalter himself co-wrote and starred in the...

What makes Don Coscarelli unique amongst the masters of horror is that the majority of his films are good. With four kickass Phantasms and one excellent Bubba Ho-tep making up the majority of his films, its obvious to see why. Now he can add Incident on and off a Mountain Road, which was the premiere episode of the anthology series, to that list. Directed and...

Fantastic interview! I gots much love for Mr. Coscarelli!

Saw Incident On and Off a Mountain Road last night and thought it was okay. It had some good gore in it and moments of suspense but lost a bit of it's luster towards the end. Moon face wasn't played up enough or allowed to be as scary and creepy as he could have been. Once he entered the picture the rest of the film was of him getting his ass kicked by the heroine turning the movie into something as scary as an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Not to mention the guy she married in the movie, and the main point of the movie, was a total nut job from the begining. I think I would have enjoyed the flick more if I didn't have to buy into the premise so much and the character of Moonface had been explored a lot better.
After finishing the graphic novel War Fix, I immediately jumped on my computer and emailed the publicist to schedule an interview with the writer, David Axe. I was that impressed by the book. Axe and his artist Steve Olexa have taken Axes account of his first trip to Iraq as an embedded journalist and turned it into a compelling tale of why these same journalists...

DJ Paul Oakenfold has been a mainstay in the DJ scene for nearly 20 years. He exploded in popularity in 2001 due to his work on the film Swordfish. Since then his tours and albums have become better and much larger in scope. His latest album is A Lively Mind and, as usual, it features plenty of guest artists such as actor Brittany Murphy, uber-producer...

Dominik Moll gained acclaim from all over the world in 2000 for his thriller With a Friend Like Harry. That film was one of my favorites of the year but we havent seen another work from Moll until Lemming. Lemming is a much different film than Harry. While Harry was straightforward thriller, Lemming is much more complex and fascinating. It is story of a troubled...

Its rare to see a hot, young sexy woman really beat the crap out of someone, especially on A & E. But its something that professional rollergirl Miss Conduct and the rest of The Holy Rollers do every week. Now you watch the entire first season of Rollergirls on DVD. Miss Conduct was a great interview and now she has her own personal website...

The Abandoned is a really awesome graphic novel. If you havent heard of Ross Campbell and his book, Wet Moon, then sit up and take notice because when The Abandoned catches on its going to send this guys Q rating to the moon. For The Abandoned, Campbell has created the character of Rylie, the punk mohawked lesbian who just convinced her long time pen pal...

Coheed and Cambrias latest album, Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through The Eyes of Madness, continues the story that they have been creating with their concept albums. I got a chance to talk with bassist Mike Todd.

Few comic book creators have had the worldwide impact that Carlos Ezquerras work has. This is the man who changed the face of comic books back when he and John Wagner created Judge Dredd. Since then Ezquerra has worked more than steadily, there must be something in the water over in Spain for people like Sergio Aragons and Ezquerra to be so prolific. Most recently...

I bought 2 pages of Carlos' original artwork about ten years ago "Strontium Dog The Killing" and "Judge Dredd Apocalypse War" - 2000ad was a big part of my childhood, and those two stories were amongst the best ever printed, and the artworks still have pride of place in my home. His style is just so 'right', and he rocks!

whenever garth ennis did something with ezquerra, he would hype it up in the letters page of preacher, and always describe it as follows:
"story by me, art by the mighty carlos ezquerra" which, for me, sums him up perfectly.

Lily Tomlin is a true comedy goddess. Shes been entertaining people with her wonderful cast of characters since Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In. In fact one of my favorite movies of hers, 9 to 5, was just released in special edition DVD. But her latest movie is special because not only does she play Meryl Streeps sister in a singing duo but it also reteams...

Mick Rock is a living legend. He is best known as a music photographer who captured iconic images of 70s musicians, such as David Bowie, Lou Reed and Iggy Pop, when they were hitting their peak. Most recently hes gotten some press for his famous pictures of JT Leroy and friends. Well maybe not JT himself or herself. Rock had many photo opportunities with Laura...
