I had a terrible scare last week.

I'm sitting here at work, and I get a call. a woman says Mr. B? unless you can pay us $24,000 by friday, we're taking your tax return, and will begin garnishing 30% of your gross income. we have already filed paperwork with your payroll...

No idea what you are talking about... loan re-hab? but it sounds VERY fishy... you thought you were paying something off but it was going somewhere else?

Hmmm.... is that legal? can they mislead you and then garnish your wages? man... my heart bleeds...

Banks suck. I know you probably aren't dealing with a bank but the principle is the same.

Fucking legalized theft!!

I am beginning to think that my time here is coming to an end. when I first joined, this seemed like a cool group...a haven away from the mindless masses. now, however it seems they have lifted the rock we were all happily under and pulled us out, screaming into the light. While I have, admittedly met some very cool people here, and you know...

I. Your love has penetrated all within me
Like honey plunged into water,
Like an odor which penetrates spices,
As when one mixes juice in... ......

Nevertheless you run to seek your sister,
Like the steed upon the battlefield,
As the warrior rolls along on the spokes of his wheels.

For heaven makes your love
Like the advance of flames in straw,
And its longing...

I

I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked,

dragging themselves through the negro streets at dawn looking for an angry fix,

angelheaded hipsters burning for the ancient heavenly connection to the starry dynamo in the machinery of night,

who poverty and tatters and hollow-eyed and high sat up smoking in the supernatural darkness of cold-water flats floating...

Is there a reason you guessed that I was "attached?" There are many women my age now who do prefer to be single you know?

Igen ("yes"in Hugarian) I do indeed hail from Hungary. I was born in Budapest and lived in Munich, Germany before settling over here in New England. We came here around 1987 or so (I think I was 10-11). I have no accent (in case you wondered...most people ask right away...maybe they think an accent would be sexy or something).

lysistrata:
I meant ROMANTIC capital R means like the movement

"Artistic and intellectual movement that originated in the late 18th century and stressed strong emotion, imagination, freedom from classical correctness in art forms, and rebellion against social conventions.

Romanticism, attitude or intellectual orientation that characterized many works of literature, painting, music, architecture, criticism, and historiography in Western civilization over a period from the late 18th to the mid-19th century. Romanticism can be seen as a rejection of the precepts of order, calm, harmony, balance, idealization, and rationality that typified Classicism in general and late 18th-century Neoclassicism in particular. It was also to some extent a reaction against the Enlightenment and against 18th-century rationalism and physical materialism in general. Romanticism emphasized the individual, the subjective, the irrational, the imaginative, the personal, the spontaneous, the emotional, the visionary, and the transcendental.

Among the characteristic attitudes of Romanticism were the following: a deepened appreciation of the beauties of nature; a general exaltation of emotion over reason and of the senses over intellect; a turning in upon the self and a heightened examination of human personality and its moods and mental potentialities; a preoccupation with the genius, the hero, and the exceptional figure in general, and a focus on his passions and inner struggles; a new view of the artist as a supremely individual creator, whose creative spirit is more important than strict adherence to formal rules and traditional procedures; an emphasis upon imagination as a gateway to transcendent experience and spiritual truth; an obsessive interest in folk culture, national and ethnic cultural origins, and the medieval era; and a predilection for the exotic, the remote, the mysterious, the weird, the occult, the monstrous, the diseased, and even the satanic. "

Remember that Romantic captial "R" Love was all about just the appreciation. In fact they believed that consumating anything would destroy it. There were stories of married women with children having Romantic Lovers, who would "woo" them. Sing songs at their windows, adore them. But never even kiss them, for fear of shattering the ROMANCE....

sigh..

very much like the lovers on the Grecian Urn, (Ode to a Grecian Urn by Keats) who forever will be in the exquisit moment just before the first kiss, no moment will be sweeter.

"...Bold Lover, never, never canst thou kiss,
Though winning near the goalyet, do not grieve;
She cannot fade, though thou hast not thy bliss,
For ever wilt thou love, and she be fair! ..."

sigh...

some general BULLSHIT from last night's SOU address by "our" president:

In two weeks, I will send you a budget that funds the war, protects the homeland, and meets important domestic needs, while limiting the growth in discretionary spending to less than 4 percent. (Applause.) This will require that Congress focus on priorities, cut wasteful spending, and...

Are you wooing me? As in the capital 'R' Romantic ideal? I don't think I've ever been wooed before... maybe still not but while it lasts I shall wallow...

Ovid is fine... Just because one person introduced me to wine, doesn't mean I don't drink it whenever I want.

I never asked you how you know Ovid? oh and what do you teach and to whom? if you don't mind me asking?

okay, better late than never, I say.

last weekend was a real wild trip!

on my way out to Portland, my connecting flight from Minneapolis was cancelled, as they had closed the entire portland airport (snow...).

I decided to hibernate in a hotel room.

until, I remembered that blasfemme, one of my oldest friends here, lived in Minneapolis. I called her, and blammo! we had...
