I have official proof that Al likes me (see profile picture), be jealous, be very jealous. I'm sure it wont last long, but hey, i like the abuse so its okay.
God I swear i'm such a speaker whore.. im listening to this music and there's nothing i'd like more right now than to be in front of a wall of sound with this shit blasting @ 0934850938508490 decibels.. *sigh* one thing about the west coast that no one seems to do is build massive walls of speakers at parties.. I want 15 Bass bins with 4 sets of quad 18"s stacked on em. It's a wonder I'm not deaf by now.. but i dont even feel like my hearing is damaged.
I've got this 600w amp and 2 18" PA speakers hooked up to my computer, and i used to lay for hours vegging out in the pitch black.. laying on the floor with a speaker on each side of me point at me like a massive pair of headphones and just put on some music and crank it up. I'm really amazed at the power of music, and the control it has over my emotions. It's such a powerful means of communicating a feeling or a certain energy.
It's funny, when i was a little kid I used to hate music.. i never wanted to listen to anything.. then as i started to get older i got addicted to it. When i was about 8 I started listening to classical music constantly.. I lived out in the country and we were really poor so I'd just sit around and listen to music all day and all night eventually falling asleep to it, and then i couldnt sleep without it and developed a dependency to it. I think that might be one reason i like electronic music so much is because i see alot of similarities between classical and electronic. Classical and Big Band both actually seem to share alot w/ electronic.
Anyways.. so i'm starting to see the way the SG community works. It's pretty interesting actually. Talk about a sub-sub-subculture. Anyways.. poetry day yesterday was fun.. I failed to recognize some classical poems, but i'm not making any excuses for that.. I really havent read alot of what people would call "essential reading".. hell in 10th grade i was reading the Microsoft Press Windows 95 Certification book.. read it cover to cover in class all like 800 something pages.. But hey, you lack in some things and you excel in others.. I know what I need to improve on.. do you?
