What to do in this situation is keep calm, the Shark is big but has a small brain, do not splash at the water, keep paddle out of the water and sit there while keeping an eye on the Shark. If the Shark gets close enough to bite push it away (push, not slap or hit) it with the paddle and be sure to push at the point of it's nose, not it's teeth, if possible poke the Shark in the eye as that's very sensitive for the Shark and it will go away at that time it's best to paddle in a non splashing motion as to cut into the water while paddling away as fast and strong as possible and that's how I survived a Shark attack only when I did it I did not even have a boat ... I had webbed Gloves and had been pushed by the current of the Sea into a Soccer Ball sized Sea Urchin where it's spikes went 3 inches into my left foot.
