Interesting...some people i suppose deliberately leave behind part of who they are for whatever reason. Others, such as myself, desperately wish they'd grown up with the traditions and history of their ancestors. It wasn't until i was 23 years old that i first heard the language of my ancestors spoken and it was amazing and so fullfilling to me.

If Zeb has turned his back on his totem or ancestors (i didn't think the Cherokee had totems as that's much more of a pac northwest tradition) i'm sure he has his own reasons. But to him it may be like a wound that won't heal. Ask him about it and try to figure out how best that you two can overcome this hurt in him as it's hurting you too.
