I've been a bit of a bah humbug about holidays the last few years. Costumes are a pain in the ass to come up with and are generally uncomfortable, pumpkins are messy and a pain in the butt. Thanksgiving is great, if you've got family to visit with and who cooks. Christmas, well, that's been involving breakups or death in the family for the last 3 years running, which doesn't leave one feeling particularly festive. This year my Halloween has started well. Went on a hay ride with the lovely Ms. E, and then took my funky punkin to a carving party. Whipped that puppy out in about 5 minutes, which meant I got to enjoy being social and bond with my friend's wonderfully chill Chihuahua. Excellent. I've decided to eschew the whole costume thing this year, which has been a load off my mind. Just gonna focus on being sociable again.
