I was kind afraid that this birthday was gonna kinda suck ass, since things weren't going according to my usual plans. I decided to come to Eugene to try and salvage things as well as get a little vacation, but I kinda figured I'd be a big ol' mopey mess under it all. And yet somehow that hasn't even materialized a little. I went out with a couple girlfriends last night, got to be "Auntie" Lysa for a couple minutes (to be continued tomorrow morning), shopped with Mom till I dropped today and then birthday dinner with the parental units. All the while, from about 2AM on, getting birthday greetings from all over the place including about 3 of those from the boy. Even 100 miles away from my usual social supports, I'm feelin' the love.
