Today's been thoroughly exciting. Went out west looking for a bedskirt, got bored/tired and gave up that pursuit in the face of unbelievable crowds. Got a bug up my butt to get out of the heat, to give my poor nose a rest (turns out I got yet another sinus infection, and am on yet another round of antibiotics, woo!) so I went to the coast. Didn't exactly avoid the crowds there, as the Hood to Coast is apparently this weekend. Oh well! Got some elk jerky, got myself drenched up to the crotch trying to cross a creek, spent another 3 or 4 hours wandering around enjoying the sights and trying to dry off a little, which was nice and relaxing and eventually quite chilly. Hopped back in the car, stopped to see a really big damn tree (never had a tree give me the willies before - awe is a strange emotion), stopped by Camp 18 to see why it's always so busy. Still not sure, maybe I missed something.
Now I'm so sleepy I don't so much care that I don't know of anything interesting going on tonight.

here's a trick to make your own bedskirt: go find a fabric you like, maybe something cool or unusual, then measure the height from the floor to the top of the box spring. double that, then maybe add 10-12 inches (maybe more, depending on how much you think it may take to keep it in place). Now get some of the fabric in that height (and if possible, long enough to wrap your bed... but if not, you can do it in a few pieces), fold it over once, then tuck it under the mattress, so that it hangs to where you'd like your skirt to stop. It's usually cheaper then a bed skirt and you'll be able to make it look any way you want without much work.
