I will check out john carley next time i hit the librry. Gender bending sci fi sounds good. Yumsmile
I am going to read the chalice and the blade for my next book. I have been inspired to explore my pagan heritage and i heard its very well written about in this book. Fertility rites and wine sound like a good way to be spiritual to me!

Today's journal, v3.0 - including as much of versions 1, 1.1, 2 & 2.1 as I can remember. Which is to say, not much.

Pardon me waxing nostalgic for a moment... I really miss the virginal quality of just making out. No expectations of nudity, just the tension and sparky anticipation that leave you feeling blissfully dizzy and fizzy-headed. whatever

We can't stop here, this...

i miss that as well, which you might have ascertained from my first "into" section, if you saw I was here back then. I miss when sex was a planned affair that took some time to cultivate, not a measure of how desperate two people were feeling. back when you knew it didn't matter how far you got, just that you did what you did was great.

oh, don't worry about being dirty. i'm not one to get embarrased.. or not like it. ooo aaa

yeah, i used to and continue to sing professionally on occasion. I still go on world tours with a choir.. I've been on 3 so far. interestingly enough, i'd been on two of them before i had been outside the central time zone. i've still been to less states than I have countries.

and given the crowd, it was very far from being porno. sometime in person i'll give you the story about the rumors behind the people that were there, though. quite hilarious, but not something to spread in publicly viewable places.

and in closing, hooray for fizzy, fuzzy, big and buzzy. (keeping the obscure musical references going)
yumchen:
Hee hee. I want to read the book. Oh speaking of which have you ever read tom robbins. Try "even cowgirls get the blues" The hot lesbian sex scenes are amazingly well written for being written by a guy. Check it out if you ever need something fun to read at work smile

Mossy Sicko's Thoughts on daytime TV:

Why is it considered charming/amusing that Emeril can't get things right to save his life? ("Cabo Wabo" becomes Wabo wabo cabo, WWW.foodtv.com becomes ww.foodtv)

Why is it that they use less liquid in showing us how great paper-towels are than TP? (30 ml for paper towels, 40 for TP) Is there some way we're supposed to be using toilet...

Hey, I still wish you'd have come. But hopefully you're getting plenty of great rest. Pearl and I were pretty late as we went to a concert before hitting the bar, but people were super sweet. I think next time we'll show earlier so we feel less like add-ons.

Well, the good news is I think I'll live, my fever's broken and I'm finally able to sleep again. wink

I've been asleep for about the last 12 hours, and pretty well delirious the 36 before that, so I have really nothing more interesting than that to say but I'm tired of looking at the "achoo". smile

All you PDX people, be extra specially nice to Thursday...

anthropomorphization in ants: well, first off, look at the word itself... first three letters? ant. apparently, humans learned all of their social behaviors from ants... keggers... pheromones... caste systems... worship of females... body building... and so on.

biggrin

i had some hot mustard green beans the other night. i thought i could smell my neighbor from two houses down after that... it was like my smelling capabilities were increased ten bajillion fold... that could be a good thing to give dogs that're supposed to sniff stuff out... hehehe.

how's the achoo goin?

Another good weekend in the works... last night, good food and good fun with anything and theWhore.
Tonight, off to Cirque du Soleil with some old friends. They've picked up the tickets this time, we're picking up the booze! biggrin

What's one thing you'd really like to accomplish?

Electra it is indeed... and given the fact that your father is a Psychologist... you're well within the boundaries of Electraism... so, how's it feel to be... normal?

wink

I've actually been kinda tempted to do some tracking down at my work... I'm working at the REI distribution center, and all products that're ordered online or on the phone are shipped out of there. Well... about three years ago, I bought my sleeping bag online... and when I got it, I was flipping through the little tag, and found the words "I Love You" scribbled in pencil in the margin... weird, huh? So now that I'm working in the place where it had to've been written... I'm thinkin' I should ask around some. Who knows, it might've been a 43 year old man? ( eeek )

It's been observed that Portlanders each have three main personalities/lives. I have a feeling it's not so much a Portland thing so much an "alternative lifestyle" thing.

How many personalities do you have and what are they?

Me, I have the suburbanite who would like to be a housewife (without the parenting part) and have time to tend the garden/clean/bake/make jam/crochet/arrange flowers/sing in the "church"...

ahahahaaha.... you said UU!

oh man... that's so great... my dad and step-mom frequent the local UU "church"... interesting people go there... and they too have no idea what to call anything any more...

at a BBQ that my father hosted earlier this summer, while I was in Delaware visiting him, he invited several older couples from the congregation. for some of them, there seemed to be an obsession with the word... ah, shit... what was it? well... basically, they were using it in place of "etymology"... big intellectuals they were... and obsessed with giving the perception that they are "fair and accepting people"... which they highlighted with: "We're a progressive organization because we have a black--I mean, an African-American--man as our leader. He's really smart!"

my father encouraged me to rip out their throats... lol.

granted, these were individuals within the "church"... not the actual congregation itself... the "minister" that they have there is actually very cool... i've had several discussions with him about religion and faith...

i was raised in a denomination that kids itself with the joke that its initials (UCC) stand for "Unitarians Considering Christ"...

and i keep rambling... on and on and on...

my personalities:

- the amiable extrovert: trained in many facets of human interaction. the politician. (used in formal functions, interviews, positions of power, and when drunk... maybe.)
- the cripplingly shy little kid: enough said.
- the intellectual: fascinated with/by pretty much everything... including the cellular makeup of a filovirus. no, really.
- the idealist: believes in white picket fences, 2.3 children, a happy, rewarding marriage, a stable career, and a cabin in the woods for weekend getaways.
- the artist: narciccistic, creatively driven, frightened by failure.
- the pervert: (under construction).

somehow, all of these hate each other, yet manage to survive in coexistence. along the way, my general personality comes through...

and yes, my degree is in psychology... eeek
olsen:
I probably do. Let's see.

Morose, dull-eyed, disappointed Olsen (that's me.)

Excited, awed, creatively inspired/inspiring, singing, smiling, glowing Olsen.

I know there are a thousand little variations on myself depending on where I focus. I am sexual, I am pure. I am emotive, I am emotionless. I am a performer, I am shy. But I'm not sure I have anything that merits a full personality.

How about this: I have my creative life, my intellectual life, my social life, and my family life. Since there are four of those, I would like to dispose of the family life, please.
