Okay, I'm back...
We've picked a date for my brother's service, and we'll be going to Hawaii in a few months to scatter his ashes. The strange thing is, with 5 1/2 years to process the sad aspects of all this, all I've felt since I got the call was relief and happiness. There was no pain, he was lucid - when it was time...

Okay, coworker is alright, apparently the email to let me know got misaddressed.
It's always a little surprising to catch myself in the middle of one of those subconcious behavior patterns. I always feel a little stupid for stepping in those same pot-holes over and over again. I'm not sure though if what I have to learn from it - is it not to keep...

When someone sprinkles salt across my doorway, I have to stop and count every grain before I can cross it. This is especially inconvenient when the sun is coming up and I need to be back in my coffin.
moondaddy:
Glad to hear your coworker's alright!
I'm having a hard time deciding about the last-subconscious-pattern-I-found-myself-going-back-to thing... I'm sure there's tons of them under there, but they're all too subsconscious for me to tell. Most of my bad habits I'm painfully aware of... they aren't subconscious at all.

Whoopee for work drama!
My coworker who's been on disability while he got a stem-cell transplant for lymphoma, has since come back to work. He disobeyed Dr.'s orders and went outside with a weenie immune system, while that Martian Death-flu was knocking everyone on their ass. So he was out of work again, then in the hospital, then back home and then working (from home)...

That Martian Death-Flu is nasty, I'm still coughing from it weeks later. As for work drama, it doesn't get any better than working on a ship, bitch, moan, gossip, and shit-talking 24-7

Hope you've contacted the guy buy now or at least found out what the situation is.
Are you going to be around over the holidays? We should go skating again, I need some learnin' sessions, I fear.

Glad to share with those who appreciate it.
Regarding the sweet, sweet gummi goodness, I pretty much stick to the Black Forest original gummies. (I'm 100% old skool gummi girl *giggles*) Love those little pineapple ones.
I agree with you about the whole school thing. So much of what one is asked to endure in the name of education is just a bunch of worthless facts and dry theory. I'm all about hands on learning and critical thinking skills. What area are you getting your Master's in? Research is neat!
I'm the queen of the DVD britcoms. Teehee! Gotta ask, what do you think of the most recent Dwarfs? I was kind of disappointed with season 9. It seems to be lacking some of the silliness and lightheartedness that is in the early seasons. It just seems like the writers are trying to top themselves, but it just isn't as funny. Sad . . .
My day is peachy keen with extra peaches. (especially since I got kisses from Moss. Yay!)

I tink I got A's!!!!!!!!
I have returned! It was really nice to get away for the weekend, and really nice to get back again. It was rather scary seeing my family under the circumstances, but getting to hang out with Yumchen was just wonderful.
And in other news, on my way back to town, I got my first lobe-holes stretched! ...Wow and ow... but they're really cool, and maybe...

Why was seeing your family scary?
I need to be able to split into multiple separate me's and come back together again at will. I've decided this would make my life even better than it already is. Can you imagine how much trouble I could find that way? Plus, ya know, it's better than clones because when I came back together I could merge and mull over all the fun that...

What decade and/or place do you most wish you'd lived in, and why?
Every now and again I'll read some description of some of the things that went on in the 70s or at the turn of the last century (Studio 54, need I say more? The other being more of an intellectual curiousity) and I'll be majorly bummed that I was born just that...

Oh how that is such a hard question to answer. I would have liked to come of age during WWII to understand that whole historic time. The 50's would be nice because it was the last innocent decade where America could do no wrong. The 60's would have been killer because of the radical political movements and events.

actually, ive felt for a long time like i belonged in the early 1900s. i think my grandpa and i woulda been friends. until the first time i said "fo shizzle dizzle" and then he would have quietly checked me into a sanitarium.
Boy oh boy did I direly need this 4-day weekend.
In other news, boy is this place dead! I wonder how many of us are still out of town?

i never left, but checking out pr0n while the family was here (yes, the family stayed at my house... *tear*) wasn't exactly a feasible option - especially since their sense of privacy means sitting in a chair instead of a couch in the living room.
but, overall, things weren't that bad for the holiday... worked through most of it, so i've had that blessed distraction/excuse...
