This is such an uncanny topic for me tonight because I put on a scent today that I've never worn before and it was AWFUL. Gave me a headache and made me feel slow and stupid all day. After a few hours, I tried to cover it up with the scent that I usually wear if I wear scent (which isn't very often in the first place) but it became WORSE. Freaky kept saying I smelt fine/nice but it was how it made me feel that was unbearable. So - today - I want very much to smell like nothing.

However, to answer the question: Arachnequarius is right - thunderstorm. Right before it hits. (I also want to be lit like that: all stand-outy and focused, dark and light well contrasted.)

Or coffee. Good stuff, not crappy instant. I don't drink it but I love the smell of the beans. It's ... clean.

Spring Break? You lucky Nth Hemisphere-ers.. Sounds fabo - we're hitting Autumn here so things are dying off as we speak (which makes it sounds awful when in fact it's a nice change from the hottest February in forever).

my sleater kinney cd collection was pretty important to me. i love music and movies. but i gave my s-k away to a girl i thought would love them. most extreme place? would probably be djibouti africa, hot as a mofo there. when i arrived there it was like 140 degrees, we were later told that the hottest place on the planet was about 20 minutes from where we were.

I guess the reason I found this quote interesting was that it reminded me of something the poet Rilke said. He argues that, as we become more diverse, we become more human. It seems to me that the idea of language being translation of an interior content through an externalized apparatus to another internalization requires that the participants be -- at some level -- fundamentally different from one another. That there are no universals under which we all qualify for the rubric "the same." This is at the heart of the idea of diversity. What do you think?

Oh, and the bit about masturbation -- what I find annoying isn't the idea of m. but rather the connotation of "masturbatory," that is, an overwhelming self-indulgence.

Teehee! Thanks, sweetie. Will I get to see how cute a drunk Moss is sometime? Now that I'm unemployed I might actually make it out for drinks. I think the drunken cuteness of an SG get together is probably off the charts illegal or something.

I'm definitely with moondaddy on the zealotry thing. That and a general lack of common sense are a really, really big turn-off for me. Total deal breaker.
