I'm still having a very hard time getting the stress out of my body. I found a yoga place near my apartment, hopefully I should be able to catch that tomorrow before I go insane or become inadvertently bulemic.

The concert last night was unbelievably fucking awesome. That totally made my week. I haven't smiled that much in ages. It reminds me of Tori Amos concerts back in the old days. Damn. So smitten now. love

I love my acupuncturist... she looked into my eyes with that "you poor hurty thing" look, and said "you've not been sleeping have you." No... and then she hit me with the major sedative/destressy/sleep-like-a-log places and now I just can't hold on to the hurt or the anger anymore.

But I got some seriously good hugs tonight too, which also helped enormously.

I love you guys...

Cast iron... Never clean it with soap and water- clean it with a rag to dry it- then put a bunch of course salt in it and wipe it around with another dry rag- then wipe out the salt. It will remain wonderfully seasoned forever. If you must wash it the old way you can, but try to do that as little as possible. I know nothing of TV chefs, but Alton Brown has a rad website. and Breadmachine are something I know nothing of. Making bread by hand is fun, give it a whirl.

Must remember:
Just because I don't get what I want doesn't mean it's going to be a bad thing.
Anger is easier, but it's not necessarily helpful.

Now I just have to keep repeating that till I believe it.

In other news, I find it especially amusing that all my disparate belongings are actually starting to look like they belong together. Still need to figure...

I think a chimp would be great for the canopy.

Or a rhesus monkey, since they're lighter.

This apartment, thus far, really calms me. I left this morning feeling mopey and way out of it, came home feeling really surly and pissed off. Been home a couple hours now, feeling reasonably calm. Even if most of my belongings are across town, I finally feel like I'm in my own place. My kitties, my bed, my decorating/arranging. As long as I never have...

Movers do make life easier. Wish i had used them. I had 2 floors to go up just to get to the main floor, and a 3rd to get to my bedroom when i moved. it sucked ass. It took me an extra week to get unpacked.

BTW I am jealous, I want a purple bed, with a dash of gold. Oh well I know that will never happen.

Glad you like the new appartment. My place is also very calming. helps that i have alot of headroom. Then I was thinking today, after watching the movie kinsey, about when i finally didnt see my parents home as mine anymore. Than i loved my place all the more. because i hadent really thoughtabout how much my home really was mine, not someone elses.

And on that note, have fun decorating!!

some lyrics for you my deary dear....

One More Rainy Day ~ Deep Purple

Changes, visible changes
Sky looking so forlorn
It looks like the world's been born
On one more rainy day

Trying to see the sunlight
My heart's crying out loud
I try to see through the clouds
On one more rainy day

One more rainy day
Once again my mind is grey
This is what a rainy day can do
One more rainy day
One more rainy day

Sun starts shining on through
New day a day with you
It's strange what sun can do
On one more rainy day

One more rainy day
Once again my mind is grey
This is what a rainy day can do
One more rainy day
One more rainy day

Greetings from my new abode! Everything here's working out beautifully so far. I slept like a log, a full and uninterrupted 8 hours. I can't wait till the rest of my stuff comes tomorrow!

Tomorrow I get to finally walk through my actual apartment for the first time. I'm doing a few days of limbo here, till I can get in there for real. I donno what to take first. You'd think I'd never moved before, as excited as I am about this. smile

I am so excited for you.

You and another friend of mine here are adventuring into self-reliant land and are inspiring me to figure some shit out that has been lurking in the back of my brain for some time.

Bed curtains and a purple couch!! EEEEK! pretty!

Take kitchen and bathroom stuff first. The rest is just filler. smile

I wanted to find a sweater.. no dice! EL SUICIDO LOCO

****Warning: Brain-dump ahead!****

Okay, getting outside in the "sun" was a big help. Done wonders for my mental state already. Plus, getting things accomplished, making progress on the packing...I should have everything but the bedroom and a few kitchen implements that I'll need to use between now and Moving Day all ready to go by the time C's moved out. Since I've got no furniture...

Wait.

Waitwaitwait.

Your Day In The Barrel? That's a secret known only among my Nerds. How did YOU find out about The Barrel.

Spill, missy!

No, I don't know you. I don't think. But still. HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT THE BARREL?
yumchen:
God you are my hero.

It's weird. I have been thinking more and more about how nice it would be to live on my own without S.O's or roomates.

I have so much shit going around in my head and it's hard being around people 24/7 that don't help.

I had a huge discussion with Jon about love, marriage, living together and stuff. It was interesting to find out that we really have different ideas of what is going on right now and what we expect in the future.

Anyway. It sucks because I can't call my girlfriends to vent about it because I am hardly ever alone in the house and I don't want to hurt his feelings.

I keep getting really upset every time I realize that I can't have a mermaid themed bathroom where I am at right now. I have to compromise. Bla. I am 23, not married, no kids, love fantasy and mermaids and I can not have a mermaid/pirate bathroom. It makes me sad.

Again, you are my hero. Let me know where I can send you your personalized alyssum candle. kiss

Well, I did it, I woke up screaming.
They kept coming in the house, in my dream, and I couldn't stop them. So I screamed. That stopped 'em!

I didn't know I could do that.

I don't think I'll do that again, if I can help it.

I like screaming and yelling. Though it is best to do it alone. Strangers don't seem to like it much.

I have that dream, even had one last night. but those dreams are rare now though.

Stressy girl's hiding in her hidey hole today, gotta pack up as she may need to be out even sooner than expected. But hey, I may get money for my troubles, if I can manage?

cheech:
Money, huh? Well, that's something.

1) I'm losing my fear of red wine (it used to give me the most unbelievable, splitting headaches)
2) Yumchen's coming to visit love
3) C got a view of why people think "my sister" and I are twins. He laughed, a lot. We apparently move alike, especially when we're eating. And we have creepily similar decorating taste - green, purple, and bugs. Yeah.
hippomonki:
which "sister"?
yumchen:
I am so sad. I checked road conditions this morning and afternoon and they are shit.

I am too afraid to drive over the mountains so no visiting of me this weekend. It sucks.

frown

I do have 3 day weekend this entire term so I will be making it up as soon as the roads are clear!!

I'm pretty sure, at this point, we don't have to worry about a drought this summer...

yumchen:
Haha! Silly.

It doesn't help that we have geothermal heat that takes 12 hours to heat up or turn down. Winter and summer are ok but transitioning between is a pain in the ass.
starisea:
Can I just say "Yay!"? I loves me some wetness. Teehee! Did you see how green all the moss was when the sun came out? *sighs* love

How goes the apartment hunt? Anything promising yet?

Looks like I will be buying you that drink tomorrow. It will be the "first" bloody mary of the "Great Bloody Mary Expedition 2006".
