Nope, they're not new to Ebay. None of them are, just bad luck for me!

Photos were done by a good photographer friend of mine for my portfolio. I can't take pictures to save my life!

You were in the Ship the week before too? My poor bank balance couldn't cope with that!

Was great to meet you on Saturday and once again, thanks for the map!!

Gigtastic!!!

I went to The Barfly in London to see:

Radar
Action Plan
The Drips

Radar was the first group. They were an interesting Reggae Pop group that used a lot of interesting guitar effects and keyboard loops during their performance. They're talented guys but their stage presence was a little subdued.

Action Plan was next up with more of an indie rock sound and...

My eye feels a lot better but I still have to put drops in. I've got this annoying cough which may or may not be related...oh well, one thing...

good that your eye's improving but an ulcer eeek Having to apply drops every hour too. It's the kind of thing you can deal with if you need to but still a pain in the arse.

this is probably going in my journal ...
Saturday - work in the morning then afternoon & eraly evening in Brighton - in shirtsleeves smile
Chilly when the sun began to sink though
Yesterday: quiet. I didn't leave the house until about 5pm when i went for a walk & to take photos; some of which should be good (haven't downloaded them yet) smile

It wasn't too bad...

The doctor took a look at my eye with a special microscope. She put in some anesthetic drops and took some samples of my cornea. Then she prescribed some antiseptic eye drops that I'm supposed to take every hour for 24 hours...fortunately, I'm not working now so it's not a big deal to do this.

I have to go in Friday...

Hack! Hack! Cough! Cough! I can't wait to get better!

In the meantime, this list of questions was sent to me by Tanja awhile ago:

1. Seven things to do before I die:

1) Visit Australia, China, Russia
2) Go on a really long road trip
3) Fall in love
4) Learn a different language
5) Buy a house
6) Learn to play the guitar...

I uploaded the pics from our last meeting - they're in my 'meets' folder, about halfway down.

Yeah, pretty cool, eh? smile It didn't look smoggy at all cause we had just gotten over having a rainy period! I was pretty amazed too...I'm used to looking up at the sky and only seeing smog, lol...

Saturday, I went up to the Crobar to see Snowballinhell and Forkandles. After awhile Neonkick and Naominess showed up and more drinking and hilarity ensued! smile wink . At some point, we were supposed to go to the movies but we got sidetracked when the girls started trying to convince us guys to expose ourselves (...show us your cocks!...). Neonkick obliged but Forkandles and...

Hey that sounds like a fun time, get your cocks out for the lass.
My gig was really good and really bad, we sacked the drummer after cos he arrived drunk with some girl, played (sometimes) really badly then dissapeared with the girl to the store room. I have no idea and I don't want to know.
Anyway the other bands were polite good job cos there wasn't any members of the public there. Every gig we played no matter how bad people have always come up to me and said how good I am which is cool. The headline was a metal band called Necrotize they were amazing, great musicians and really nice guys. I really reccomend them if metal is your thing.
I hope its all cool with you. Cheers Zeb biggrin

Last Thursday, I went to see Society at The Borderline in Soho. They were the middle act in what turned out to be a Canadian C&W night. Robert Dean Young and the Tincup opened and the headliner was Corb Lund. I don't normally listen to Country Western but it was kind of interesting to see something different for a change. Anyway, I went primarily...

Saturday, I went to see some bands at a pub near Portobello Road in London. I heard some interesting stuff but got tired so went home early.

Sunday, I met up with an (ex)work colleague at Box Hill. The weather was good but a little chilly. Lots of people were there. I saw a guy on a Triumph 955 fall over in the parking lot....there...

Only one of my (ex) clients had Acanthus in the garden and funnily enough it was never any trouble, but it was in a bad location so that's probably why.
It's a nightmare to have to keep fighting like that instead of just getting rid of the nuisance plant and that's the end of it.

The power went out this evening. So I went down to Croydon for dinner and then caught Tsui Hark's Seven Swords. It looked similar to Seven Samurai/Magnificent Seven but had enough unique details to keep it interesting. The plot was a little hard to follow but I got the gist of it...

...and now I'm back at my flat and the power has been...

The last movies I saw were some Oscar contenders, and they were good, but I can't say I was blown away: Walk the Line, Mrs. Henderson Presents, and some other stuff I'm forgetting so they couldn't have been that good. Do you watch the Oscars?
