Some stuff about me you probably didnt know and i forgot i knew about myself
So i went to dinner tonight at my friends place, Nikki and Michael, i have known NIkki for a long time, we went to high school together, sometimes we remember old times and things we used to do....normally its her filling me in on things we did that i cant remember, it dissapoints me at how bad my memory is.
Anyway we talked about when we used to play in a band together, our very own band that we created. I always laugh about it....we were only 17 at the time.....but maybe i should give myself more credit. Heres some random things we re capped on.
* we played a battle of the bands at Festival Hall
* we had a review written about us for said gig, and special mention although we didnt win
* we were spotted by a sony representative of some sort at this gig
* said Sony representative contacted us and set up a meeting with us regarding a possible management opportunity
* we met at the Wintergarden in the city with this Sony guy, it was a school day, we trained it in, our drummer got a phone call from his mum on the way telling him to go back to school LOL, so he did!
* from what we remember nothing ever happened after that meeting
* we played numerous skate park gigs
* we played a gig relating to Women in Music, cant remember the name of it but it still gets organised to this day
* one of our songs was featured on the album for the gig
* we recorded two Demo Cd's
* we played on the stairs to our school libraby for an Open Day
* someone watching us invited us to play at their Christmas party as the support band at our local RSL
* our band was interviewed on Bay FM, we were live on the radio
I find this all so surreal as i havent even picked up my bass and played a song for years, tonight i picked one up and strummed along to one of our old songs, Nikki actual had some of our tracks on her computer. I still dont beleive it was me playing. What ever happened? Why did i stop?
So i need to play again....i keep pushing it out of my head....but as soon as i remember these times and hear the songs....i want to play....now i just need myself an instrument.
