I'm not about go out and buy a pair of Converses, but god, I love this commercial...

Very cool. Seeing Dr. J with all that grey hair maskes me feel even older than I am.

I don't know if I should be embarrassed for liking this song, or simply admit that it's a great pop song by a talented artist? Either way, I hope you enjoy it. wink

If it puts a smile on your face, it's all good.

Can someone explain to me what the big deal is with this uproar over the new TSA scanner/pat down policy? I'm not traveling this holiday season, but in order to safely get where I need to go (if I was traveling), I wouldn't have a problem with either. And, I wouldn't bark out insults and threats when a TSA worker tried to do their job....

There is a thread about this on the CE boards. Basically what it comes down to is that 1) the new scanners don't detect what they are intended too; 2) there are agents who are way to overzealous with their pat-downs, and groping people in ways that would be considered a felony if you or I did it to a stranger. I dunno. I'm of a mind that if you don't have anything to hide, what is the problem? Yet, some scumbag grabbing my balls to check for weapons crosses a line for me.
wsoxfan:
I'm ambivalent about this whole thing. I don't believe that if you don't have anything to hide you should subject yourself to any and all policies that some governmrnt agency decides to establish.

On the other hand, I'd like to feel safer. My lifelong belief that the right to privacy trumps everything else, I'm leaning on the side of those that rail against these invasive techniques.

I'll be interested to see how many people refuse either method of screening tomorrow.

Good thing I haven't eaten as I look at that mug. I feel like throwing up.

Hey captain! Had a visit from Laerkai & CinderOla a couple weeks ago and we reminisced. Hope you're good and Connecticut's still treating you well!

I always vote, although the races In NYC were all pretty cut and dry.

I'm not into politics nearly as much as I used to be. I'm very disillusioned regarding the tone of the whole political spectrum.

What gets me, is that Bush buried us to the degree that we may never recover, yet people expect Obama to have already fixed everything Bush broke.

I can't take the stupidity of people any more. It's obvious that Obama was set up to fail.
wsoxfan:
Obama may be all the things you say, but the rest of his presidency has already been made irrelevant by Tuesday's election results. There will be nothing but gridlock the rest of the way I'm afraid.

Poetic for A-rod to be the final out in Arlington. Don't worry, I'nm sure the Yanks will open the purse and Cliff Lee is target #1 in the off season. :-) Boo Giants. The Braves ... ah well...new season, new coach..
wsoxfan:
I'll be rooting for the Giants to put the final nail in the Cowboys' coffin a week from Monday night.

Go Giants, both football and baseball.

Only in America can a mass murderer go about his life without a care in the world just because he was the president. And we ctiticize other countries for having dictators.

My last blog entry talked about the baseball playoffs and how I'm nervous, but hopeful that my Yankees will prevail and win the World Series for the 28th time. But, I had to take a break and congratulate Rick Ankiel and the Braves for their thrilling, 11-inning victory Friday night. If you love baseball, and love sports for that matter, you can't be anything but...

Sports can be the source for some inspiring stories. Josh Hamilton is another story of redemption that is worth noting.

Baseball playoffs start today, and I'm a bit nervous. My Yankees, of course, are defending champs, but the Phillies truly appear to be stacked this season... so, heading into the postseason, I'd have to say the guys from Philly are the favorites. Plus, the Yanks aren't exactly heading into the playoffs on a high note, and it looks like AJ Burnett's not getting a start...

Before the Yanks-Twins series, my prediction was as follows. If the Yanks win game 1, then Twins in 4. If they'd have lost game 1, then Twins in 3.

My prediction for the WS matchup is White Sox-Phillies, with the Sox winning in 7. That's my prediction and I'm sticking to it.

The party I attended wasn't quite what I expected and wasn't really my cup of tea. I'm glad I went anyway, as I'd have wondered what I might have been missing if I'd stayed home.

I usually don't believe that what happened in the past has much bearing on the present, but it looks like the Yanks have the Twins' number once again. Oh well. Texas - Yankees should be interesting.

Yawn. whatever

Ever have one of those days? Unfortunately, it feels like it's been going on for the whole year.

On a positive note, I'm playing soccer again. But, the team's 0-2. See what I mean? wink

Just have fun with it. I played softball at a pinic I went to on Sunday. I wound up tweaking my back a little.

I should stick to safe stuff like flogging and caning and leave dangerous stuff like softball to others.
