Thank you for voting TX, OH, RI and VT. I wish the outcome was different, but you came out and voted so I appreciate that. I just hope that things haven't turned so nasty that people begin to start to tune out the campaign altogether. Going nuclear, as Clinton did, could have a lasting effect. But, what do I know?

I'm writing this at about...

The good news is that I am drunk. The next best news is that we are talking the lesser of two goods, not evils. Whichever way we find ourselves, we will be much better off than we were yesterday.

On another note, recent polls allow for a larger margin for Obama. Hillary's end game has been faulted for polarizing independents, the undecided and unhappy Republicans (or more right than lefts) not wanting to sign on for her, in particular. By that rationale, there's still a chance for Change. *crosses fingers and toes*

That guy makes it hard for me to not like him.

Hey boss.

Obama vs. McCain will be verrrry interesting....
Though it looks like Hillary is staging a comeback here tonight, at least in OH and RI. TX is too early to call at the moment. I just can't get excited about Hillary. No charisma whatsoever. The convention could be pretty ugly....
Sigh. That and another 8 months + 'til the genreal elections.

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. How did the Andy Petitte confession go down with you? ARRR!!! ARRR!!!

Alas, I only saw one of the Best Picture nominees before Sunday's Oscars, "Michael Clayton." I enjoyed it, but I didn't think it would/should win. I'll have to get out to see "No Country for Old Men;" I've enjoyed the Cohen Brothers work in the past so I'm sure I'll like this one. Who's seen it?

Wow, I didn't think it was possible but the...

No country for old men is a badass movie. I'm glad that Javiar Bordam dude won an oscar. He plays a really good wacko. I plan to vote for Nader for the third time. biggrin

Four years ago, I remember how much everyone on SG seemed to hate Bush. EVERYONE hated Bush. And yet, he was re-elected, in part because younger voters didn't turn out in large numbers as a lot of people had predicted. I can't point a finger at everyone on SG, but let's face it, a lot of you didn't turn up at the polls.

I voted...

I'm off to Chicago for a conference. Kind of an 11th hour thing. Normally, going to a conference would be fun, but not Chicago. In January. Brrrrrrrr! Never been to the Windy City, but I also don't think I'll get much time to see it.

Thanks, everyone, for the birthday wishes. 44. Wow, who'da thunk? I don't feel a day over 26, except for my...

As I was watching the coverage from Iowa Thursday night, I began to think about Clinton. Bill Clinton. That was the last time, heck, the first time, a politician actually made me feel pretty good. Not from Iowa because he didn't win there in '92, but just in general. He presented a sense of hope and freshness that we hadn't seen in years.

Until last...

Yes, they're common currency I guess. It's funny, 'cause it doesn't affect me that much, I just pour thoughts into this thing to get them out of the way smile

No plans for New Year's, just some dinner, DVDs and sleep. I should have said debauchery to go with the "D" theme, but frankly, I'm too old and tired for that at the moment. Maybe next year. wink

Christmas was fun, but since it fell on a Tuesday, and I had to work on Monday, it was a strange week. Anyhoo, enjoyed the short break, and...

Agreed on the Christmas week thing. I had to work half day on Christmas eve then I was off Christmas day. Threw my whole week off. Plus I had to work the Saturday before so that didn't help.
I wanna see Sweeny Todd. Johnny Depp is so dreamy!! smile

Precisely, exactly what everyone, everyone is saying. Every once in a blue moon, someone that brilliant comes along... i guess this si what people felt when they saw John Kennedy as well. I tell you, even the zealot that I am, my joy and excitement is beyond words!

Happy New year, and let's have the audacity to HOPE smile

My gf has regrettably turned me into an obsessive about Project Runway. I hate myself for liking this show. True, it's less of a trainwreck than most reality shows, but I know nothing about women's fashion, and now I find myself yelling at the screen like I'm watching a football game. blush I don't like the judges (Heidi Klum looks amazing, however), and I don't even...

Sounds like a fun Christmas party. My company doesn't do anything fun like that. Of course if they rented out a place it would have to be like....8 restaurants combined.

I can't get over how fast this year has flown by. eeek

And, we're still a year away from electing a new president (those 1/20/09 bumper stickers crack me up).

I have no plans to leave here, but I think I'm going to incorporate Facebook into my life a bit more for work reasons. I have a profile up there somewhere; I'd tell you what it...
