Quiet please... quiet down. Could I have everyone's attention... (drum roll)
I passed my bartender's exam! Yay!!!!! Got a 91 on the written (needed a minimum of 85) and a 97.5 on the practical (needed a minimum of 90; the practical test is making 12 random drinks in under 7 minutes... I squeaked by in 6:58!) And here's the kicker... I never studied.
Now, all I have to do is find a job, but the school will help me with that (National Bartenders School in Norwalk, CT). If you're thinking of taking the course, I definitely recommend it, especially where I took it because the instructors were great. But, instead of taking it in one week like I did (8 hours a day), take it over 2 weeks. Part of the reason I didn't study -- besides being kind of lazy -- was because I was tired and fried at the end of each day. I had to learn so much information and make so many drinks over the course of each day that the last thing I wanted to do was study when I got home.
But, it's over. Thank god. Although, I'm going to go back a couple of times next week to practice and brush up on the stuff I'm not so good at (plus, one of my instructors is reeeeeally cute, although she's moving to Arizona in August).
Anyway, enough of all that. If you're in NY next weekend, you might want to consider going to TES Fest. And, once again I'm making my periodic appeal to fans of the show Alias to join the discussion group, here.
