What a lovely day. Just discovered Zap Mama!
Gosta see that live!
They are coming to Asheville...and I have been waiting for a musical reason to pay a visit.
With Ceilo....its on.
How come every time I like a band lately The Roots are somehow associated. Or maybe it just seems like it.

My good friend is gonna play tonight for a breast cancer benefit....

I just saw the Suicide Girl deal on HBO for the first time (think I am the last to see this) last night and I am just so thankful for being able to communicate with like minds from around the country and world all in the spirit of nakedness. What a hoot.

Happy Happy New Years to everyone!

I have really enjoyed the firendships here.

I'm intrigued by your remarks on the films in my list... although Eternal Sunshine, I remind you, was not on the list - I didn't like it that much, it kind of annoyed me actually.
You were crying through the commentary, not the actual film? Sheesh, that must have been some commentary!
wink

I'm looking forward to being in North Carolina. I should hopefully be in Wilmington and free-ish on Sunday 13 February. My diary is getting booked up as I have to keep the trip short (teaching commitments and other things back home) and have lots to fit in while I'm there, but I won't pass up this opportunity to meet my first SGers.

There has been a delightful chill in the air here.
Went to the park with my girl today and payed soccer with our 18 year old maggie dog. Read through my journal that I have been keeping on the funny things that Rain says and I cannot believe how time can fly. I am holding on to these precious years with the tightest grip possible....

So how do you like being a Sagittarius? I think we have it pretty good: adventure, travel, passion, brains... and someone recently told me that we make the best husbands (I was slightly appalled at that, but still...)

Thanksgiving...woah. My family is diabolical! Traveled to Dallas to see my dad's side of the family...all hunting, golfing, multi millionaire male chauvanistic oil men. Can it get any better than that? Sucked the energy right out of me. Can't pick your family...oh well.

One good thing came out of it. Rain learned to ice skate. That was the best. Her little skates kept slipping out...

Another nitche? Perhaps, we will see. Isn't that one of the greatest things about life? These things that we discover about ourselves, and the nitches we fill that we could not have imagined the day prior. Being able to reflect, and say ``never in a million years...'..

All the undiscovered talent in the world. The mysterious hidden undercurrents of life swirling beneath our feet, waiting to tow us out to sea, if we will only have to courage to swim out so far...

I am so sorry, alleykit, to have taken so very very long to reply to your so very very wonderfully wordy comment on my journal, of which I understood next to nothing, but ate up every delicious syllable!

Tell me, though: pilates, qu'est-ce que c'est exactement, I've never really understood. Does it have anything to do with pelvic floors? Is it only for girls?
And, but also:
'my instructor is a hot french teacher with a wicked music mix'

Attention, alleykit, I too am a hot french teacher with a wicked music mix!

This has been one hell of a week. The thing about getting older is that you just say fuck it. What else you got? Bring it on. I am made of water I wil sit on your fuckin fire. Really.

And Thirty? sad about it? No that's when you can call me mam and no I will not take offense.

I need a black belt....

Thanks for looking at my pix, I'm glad you enjoyed them.

I'm convinced ``weed eaters'' are a scam. I've never used one that could cut through anything except soft grass. I'll take my slingblade anyday.

30, eh? Been there, done that. It will only hurt for a second, promise. wink

plastic pumkin filled h treats. Who knew she was going to get all chocolate? She hasn't even noticed cause she goes for the lolly pops and that take forever to consume. One will last all night while I'm crackin out on the milk choclate.

It is official....Crackfest is officially over. Back to the dark.

Damnit. I can't believe it.

I was just at the post office and saying to myself "don't cry, don't cry." (A combo of pms and a dildo for a president...again). And I look over and see a woman crying. Damnit! I called someone...and he was on the verge of tears I swear so I started laughing hard and joking and we ended up crying tears...

What is 'the cocky staunch Republican bodily gesture'? Can you describe it for me?

I dunno, maybe I'm just getting old and cynical and have ceased to have any faith whatsoever in the voting public at large, but I wasn't the least bit surprised at the election result. So much so that I wasn't even disappointed - just shrugged at the inevitability of it all. Besides, would Kerry have been so much better? Isn't party politics just a pointless side-show when we all know it's a handful of superrich corporations that are running the world...?

So whereabouts in nc are you, kitty?

Yeah...I voted... I got teary...a lil emotional. I had an ancestral moment.

Now they have kid vote...right on...get started early. I am dying to know who wins the presidential showdown. I swear if it turns legal and we don't have a decision for days like they are saying then damnit...this will just be embarrassing.

I heard that Michael Moore has cameras in the swing states...

Thank you for your answers to my questionnaire. I am concerned to hear that J.Lo stole your thunder. Good job she doesn't have your intelligence or sense of humour. smile

It was also fun to see the expression 'a coon's age' employed in a sentence, which I haven't come across in, well, a coon's age. Would I be right in thinking this expression is now, y'know, political unacceptable...?

I wish your nation well with the vote, but I'll be damned if I'm staying up all night to hear the results - especially if it's going to be dragged through the law courts for months anyway!

I have just noticed you are in North Carolina. Are you actually in North Carolina? Like, now? I am hoping to be in the Carolinas next February if you are amenable to meetings...
