"Curtains" (on B'way) is lovely. I enjoyed it immensely. My ability to nitpick remains (why is the show-in-a-show, which is supposed to be a commercial prospect in the 1950's, so full of vulgarity and choreography simulating sex? Not that I personally mind either...) , but the show was incredibly enjoyable. I saw it the night before the Tony's (making this the first time in years I've actually seen a nominated show before the awards). The song "I Miss the Music" is programmed to make musical theatre geeks like me break down in tears. The rest of it is just wonderful silly fun.
Oh, that Broadway bug. I'm so glad I'm seeing another (as-yet-unnamed) show next month to feed my manic desire for new professional live theatre. If there are songs in it, perhaps I will find tunes I can sing!
This day will probably be dull, but it brings me cashmoneys so I'm happy.
