Hey, I was at the Alexander Library over lunchtime and I saw you lot. But, I did not see a nerdy girl pass out leaflets. I expected more action. I got bored so I went back to work.

The demonstration at the ASX demonstrating against globalisation a little while ago was more interesting (completely misguided, but interesting). In my day we'd strip naked, light fires and blow shit up to get our message across. And all that on a quiet morning before breakfast.

Now it's all paphlets and a little song and dance before you home for your afternoon nap. Hmpf, you want results, you have to take _action_.

First you need the proper tools. Forget the leaflets. Bring guns, knifes, chainsaws, pickaxes, weapons of mass destruction, even that highly unstable sample of nitroglycerine could come in handy. You must strike fear into the hearts of your enemies.

Now you need _attitude_. Consume masses of alcohol. JD, Schmirnoff, pour it all down. Oh, yes! Now crank up the sound. Yeah, you're gonna rock like theres no tomorrow.

Now work yourself into a frenzy. Scream obsceneties at those passing nuns, make rude gestures at those school children leaving the museum (they'll have to learn sooner or later anyway), throw empty bottles around and set some cars on fire (leave the ones are double parked). Right. Now start the flag burning. Throw the molotov cocktails at the police. I wouldn't be happy until the TRG saturated the place with teargas. Now we're talking. Anything less than $1M of property damage is an automatic fail grade. Yes, this is what being a student is all about. Arrr! Mindless rebellion

Well, now that you mention it, I do spend time doing nerdy things. Like configuring a Windows 2003 server cluster over a weekend... nothing wrong with that, except that it is in my bedroom

At least, I gave up playing Dungeons & Dragons in high school and I won't be caught dead at one of those dreadful japanese animation screenings at Curtin uni.

I know, I tend to get a bit melodramatic at this time of year and start ranting and much of it os overexagerated. I can only blame myself if people don't read my rants and don't even bother replying to my journal entries. It's something about the combined effects of the changing weather patterns, solar radiation from a yellow sun and the constant brainwashing at work "You are happy. Work is fun. You desire a pay cut. Yeah, I am a bit strange. But what passes for normal these days, anyway? Being normal is overrated.

So tell me, what nerdy things occupy your time when you are not studying, dear Alita?

Seriously, I'm hope that you got everything done at uni over the weekend. I wish you well with all your exams. So, what are you studying?

Why am I learning this stuff? Easy, I'm getting sick and tired of my job. It's all politics and bullshit and we get no thanks. An there has to be easier ways of making money. I'd quit, but I want them to get rid of me and pay me redundancy.

I was kinda toying with moderating an investment group here on SG, but honestly think that noone would give a shit. You'd probably rally all your friends and tell me what a nerd I am and poke fun at me.

But I am working on my own site and anything goes there. No nudie pics, though.

But yeah, you can buy tapes that claim to put you into the 'theta' state/trance, if you believe that crap. Search for 'Theta Level Meditation' on Google. But then again, I've heard from other people that 1 hour of meditation can be as good as 2 hours sleep. Yeah, I'll have what they've smoking

In saying that though, winter does definitely have its place. It's such a wonderful time of the year to get all of your depression (speaking personally) out while you are sitting inside due to the fact that it is so shit outside...

The weather guys got everyone excited here on Monday by saying it was going to be 27, and then it rained all day. It's been very Melbourne spring here though.

Good luck on the tests, I've been putting together an application for the course I want to do next year, gotta get some references from people in the next 6 days or I might not get in. I'm a bit stressed.

studying for some tests i have on monday gah.
i don't see where my degree is going either . at the end of it i intend to do nothing. for maybe a year. or so. mm being a bum.

i'm so retarded and confused by this set up. i guess i can just reply to people's comments here.

the pirate rave was a dodgy 15+ thing in a ballroom, organised by local dodgy dj's. there was a big drum&bass rave that night that i think attracted most of the rave-going population in perth. hence the crappy turnout : (

though apparently my obsession with pirates isn't an obscure thing. all pirate-obsessers should and together to form a cult. we could rule the world.
