One day at Starbuck's on 23rd I saw this old couple walk in. The must have been in their 80's. As I watched them walk in happy and holding hands I was left wondering about the true meaning of love. I started talking to the elderley man and I asked him: How long they have been married. He said the got married in 1943. I than aked him how did he know she was the one for him. He said tha they were both artists and thats what brought them together. He also told me that at one time before getting married they decided to break up. He said he went home that night alone and he tossed and turned all night, he could not sleep. As the was tossing and turning in bed he realized that he could not live without his love. They have been together ever since.
Looking at myself and my recent divorce, the discussion with the elderly man at Starbuck's left me thinking about what is true love. Obviously there are many aspects to a relationship. And I leave here with a question:::::
How is it possible to feel that you cannot live without you're love? And what is the reason why someone would feel that way? And how is it possible to have that feeling you're entire life?
I think the key is being able to be good friends and treat each other nice. Pleasure is only temporary, but friendship takes up most of the day.
What do you think????
