Round trip to New Orleans was much too fast. Should have spent a few more days there, but it was too hot and humid. Had some pre-oil soft shell crab at Vera's in Slidell, the best in the World by far. Nieces wedding was at Houma Plantation House in Gonzales, LA, the restoration was true to period,but I'm sure glad they were able to hide the central air. Had some great French Chardanay and also some pre-oil local prawns and oysters. What time we had was enjoyable. 26 hours of driving in 2 days is a bit much tho. Ready to go back, but not 'til Fall. Thanksgiving or Christmas should be cool enough.





Glad the brother in-law was payin' for this one, hope it lasts.
