Need to get busy in the vineyard, lots of digging, weeding, and pruning to do. No rush I guess, have all winter. Fruit trees need to be pruned this Winter too, but not yet. I also need to learn the fine art of grafting, I have a derelict pear tree that needs some new genes. The ones it has are lazy and only produces every 5 years, good roots, just bad limbs. I've been full organic up to now, but the bugs and the viruses and the fungus are just getting too strong. Most people don,t realize it, but organic reduces productivity by 70%, so for every 10 apples you raise, you give 7 of them to the bugs, not good[not really, they make cider and applesauce out of the buggy and wormy ones, really]. And I also questioned a commercial winemaker the other day, and found that there is NO organic wine sold in the US or Canada, sulfites in everything. They raise organic grapes only to have to dope it up before it goes in the bottle. So all of the trouble of raising organic wine grapes appears to be a waste of time, except for private use. My two trees produced about 2 tons of black walnuts this year, anybody want any? I give them away, never sell anything. I'm not gonna crack them for you, you'll have to deal with your own sore thumbs. When I do shell them, I never end up with anything, because I eat as fast as I shell, net zero output! Still mowing the lawn, might be all Winter at this growth rate.

Still don't understand why SG is so deathly quiet lately, nobody seems to have anything to say. The slow economy makes people turn inward I guess, hard to find much positive things to talk about I guess.

Still happy that I cannot have everything I want, but still have everything I need, how 'bout y'all.
