Back from the lights of Paris. A place that is very hard to leave. I must have walked 100 Km in 3 days there not counting the 15 Km per day running binges and the random Metro rides to wherever the urge dragged me. It has been called "a moving feast", and I never realized how true it was, is and will be. Every corner turns into a new world. The most beautiful place I have ever seen. The monuments to Human accomplishment, the Universe, and Creation are everywhere. This city is fused into a self created being and oozes the entire history of World culture. Where Italy is the birthplace of culture, Paris is the destination of it.
In America we have been constantly told how rude the French are to us. Well, i wish to be dismissed from "us". These are warm, friendly, if anything overly polite people, who enjoy life and want everyone around them to enjoy the beauty of the world they live in as well. Every time I stopped to look at my map, someone walked up to me to offer directions. I was continuously lost, but didn't even care a minute. It was like home everywhere, even tho my ancestors left France in 1635 as Hugo naughts on less than friendly terms. I think all of the animosity for Americans was brought with them. It wasn't locally generated.
The only confusing thing was why French things are more expensive in France, should they not be cheaper at the source. I guess its like the high price of Gasoline in New Orleans, one of the strange quirks of marketing. French perfume at a Paris salon cost twice as much as it does at Macy's. The new consumer rule is look at the source, but buy online.
I almost found a new jacket there too, but none small enough. Apparently the French are now eating too much of the wrong stuff too. I was amazed that a McDonald's could even exist there, but they do. Hard to believe that with all of that food of the gods on every street corner, people would still want to eat at McD's. Marketing is an evil magic, I guess. None the less, still an endless parade of eye candy to be enjoyed. I was constantly reminded why I married a French goddess.
She will be in Paris next summer I am sure. Pure blooded French Acadien, and never been to France.
The only reason I was able to leave that place at all, was that I know I'll be going back in a month or so. I can easily see why so many people from everywhere choose to live and die in Paris.

Your comment on my set was lovely
MUAH!!
There is a local state hospital here where the only way you can tell who works there and who lives there, is that some go home at night. I really do think mental hospitals true role is protecting the normal people inside from the crazy people running loose in the streets.
This was a great explanation of what I want to mean with my set
