Did a little Christmas shopping yesterday, and found something for myself.
A copy of Callahan's Lady, one of the handful of Callahan's Crosstime Saloon books I'm still missing (the others being Callahan's Legacy (I think) and Time Travelers Strictly Cash).
Callahan's Place is one of those fictional bars that really ought to exist, and I really like this one thought that came out of the series: pain shared is lessened, and joy shared is increased. (Well, series is weird; most of the early ones are short story collections.)
Callahan's Lady (and the sequel I already owned, Lady Slings The Booze) deal with Lady Sally's House, a truly fascinating bordello built along similar lines (and in face, Sally and Callahan are married, go figure
).

Hm. Those books sound interesting. I have SO many new books to read but maybe when I get through them I'll have to check them out!
