oh it is so dreary out, i don't want to leave my bed. i wake up in the morning, eat breakfast, take a shower, and recently while its been raining so hard i crawl back in bed and stay there as long as i possibly can. i fond myself making appointments later in the day so i don't have to leave my warm nest. don't get me wrong, i don't mind the rain, but i don't want to be in it. i don't feel like wearing clothes that are just going to get wet, or shoes that might make my feet cold or damp. i am sick of wearing rain boots and heavy sweaters. yea yea i know we need it, but really, i wouldn't even mind if it was every other day with warm days in between. ok thats enough of my sad rant on bad weather, its not that bad...
we leave for hong kong on sunday! yeah! although the original plan was to go to japan for 10 days, i think this is a wonderful remix. i have never been to Hong Kong or anywhere in China for that matter. ive always wanted to but it seems i get pulled into another trip to japan and have such a great time i forget there are other countries waiting to be seen. we changed out trip a week before going, so figuring out what to do and how to do it in HK seems so rushed. there is part of me that just wants to go and see where the trip takes us. finding stuff DIY instead of a travelers book. i love the touristy stuff, but i would much rather find that hole in the wall restaurant that you only know if you know or accidentally run into it. i would also like to point out that Japan has some pretty cold weather right now (this is coming from a californian) being 40-50s right now, where as Hong Kong is in the 70s. not bad, my dreams are coming true. i kind of feel guilty for switching our plans. Japan needs as much help as possible, even if it is just us spending money there. i know the stores are hurting for customers since the entire country is in mourning. i have sent donations (as should you) but it just wasnt the time to go and have a great vaca. next time japan, i promise.
work is getting so busy, and projects are stacking up. there are art supplies just laying all over the house right now, im surprised i havent just started doing them in bed so i really never have to leave my nest. there is an awning over our studio door that is underneath our bedroom. the rain hitting the awning sounds like there are people walking outside our house. being that we live on a hill and there is no one remotely close to our backyard, its a sound we don't hear very often. reminds me of living in the city. i sort of miss that sound, just knowing people were out doing things. i couldn't give up the crickets and soft wind blowing for anything though, its so much more peaceful. this is why i have friends who still live in crowded areas so i can stay at their house should i need a night of noise living. there is something about it that makes me fall right asleep. you would thing the no noise would do it, but sometimes i need a good tranny yell and bus to drive by that just puts me out like a light.
ok, time to get out of my pillow fortress and get ready to head out into the wild weather.
XOXO
