This song oozed out of the radio and covered me in a slime of nostalgia.

I thought "What song is this? I really like it.....but then, it is so sad and boring, who could listen to music like this all the time, or even listen to a whole album by this band? Even though it sounds okay, I hate the whole philosophy of music like this. What song is this again? I'll have to tell my friends in their late twenties/early thirties who are too-tired-to-really-rock-anymore-but-still-want-to-listen-to-something-that-sounds-good about this band. It's like, the elevator music of our generation. Even the lyrics are a sad, mundane view of the world that would help people justify their failures, their inaction in the face of tragedy, and their submission to advertising and corporate governance.**"

BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are great things about Radiohead, I just haven't seen them yet. And just because I might listen to "more original music", still rock pretty hard, do more to try to change the world than blame Nader voters, and promote the "kill your television" philosophy doesn't mean I think I'm superior or anything.

I'm actually super jealous of the following things that most people my age seem to posess:

Hope about finding someone they'd like to spend the rest of their life with

Pleasure at having children without feeling like they are just spreading the plague of humanity

Belief that those children will grow up happy in a safe world

Trust in the American Political system (ie "the majority")

Faith in (or at least not fear of) capitalism

Not caring what their parents think

The ability to "hang out" and interact with other people without having a panic attack.

Being generally much much kinder and more polite than I am.

Having much much cuter hair than me.
