Saturday nights are all right.
Except this one. Last night, I came home at 12:00 because a lack of things to do. Oh, woe is me. I mean, with five people together, we couldn't come up with something. Oh well, better luck next time.
Vocalist Wanted
I have an ad in the Pittsburgh City Paper looking for a singer. actually, it's been there for quite some time. I'm beginning to believe that our little band will never have a singer. I get calls all the time. Here's how it usually goes:
Scenario One:
Me: So, what kind of music are you into?
THEM: (insert similar tastes to mine)
ME: Wow! sounds great! Let's have you down.
THEM: Well that's the thing. Could you pick me up? I live (insert town 25 miles away), it isn't that far.
ME: So you'll need a ride every time we practice?
THEM: Yeah
Scenario Two:
ME: So where do you live?
THEM: I live (insert town 50 miles away).
Scenario Three:
THEM: I see you have these bands listed as influences, but I've never heard of them. I have no experience in front of a mic, but I've always wanted to be in a band. I don't have a car, is that a problem?
The other problem is once we find a person to come down, they flake out. In one instance, a guy brought his own 40oz of Old English and his girlfriend and wanted to do reggae covers.
Shit...in another, this girl had to go pick up her kid. Doesn't sound that bad right? It is when you're speaking in some fucked up accent and missing half of your front tooth. Where do I live again?
Wake up call
I woke up to the sound of dogs barking at 7:30 this morning. Wow...Saturday.
