I had the Rob Gordon talk with my ex on Wednesday and it made me feel a hell of a lot better. I'd been wondering wheter we were too hasty in breaking up, whether we made the right decision. Folks, we made the right decision. It's over, and with good reason. I don't know why it makes me feel so good, but it feels as though a weight has been taken off my chest.
Adrienne recruited me to help her move stuff out of her apartment. Rather than being paid in cash, I asked to be paid in milkishakes and rides for me and Nathan to 6th St last night. 6th was much more fun than it was last Saturday, although I think going out once a week is a bit excessive. Once every 2 to 3 sounds about right. Now, as far as milkshakes are concerned, the best milkshakes are made by Denny's. This might seem odd; a chain diner makes the best milkshakes? But they do. They're thick, they have real milk and ice cream, and they give you cannister with the left over milklshake that didn't fit in the glass. It's these extra little flourishes that make them so good. But Adrienne took me to Amy's Ice Cream, and if Amy's had had whip cream (they were out at the time) I think Amy's would have overtaken Denny's by a mile. The shake was so good I actually exclaimed "Sweet jesus, mother of god this is a good shake!" It was like that.
