Protests
There are big immigrations related protests/rallies being conducted across the nation today, and I'd like to comment on them for a bit. In general, immigrants, both legal and illegal, are an asset to this country, Nonetheless, illegal immigrants are criminals who should not be given guest worker status. First of all, these people are not guests; guests are invited, these people aren't. Uninvited guests are called trespassers, and usually, trespassers get arrested by the police. Additionally, regardless of whether they help or hurt this country (and I believe they help far more than they hurt), they are here illegally. We as a nation have the right to decide who may or may not enter within our borders, and it is wrong in principal to reward criminal trespassers for breaking the law. I'm all for amending immigration law to make it easier for people to come to America and become American citizens, but giving blanket amnesty to people who have ignored our laws by coming here is wrong.
