Thank you again for such interesting topics to write about @rambo and @missy! I think I can say I would have been in the same boat as a lot of other women and even men, when I say the first thing that I thought of when I saw the word change, was all the physical changes that i’d make about myself. A better proportioned body. Perfect skin. A toned stomach.
I get so angry at myself when I have self defeating thoughts, but it’s totally normal, and we’re all guilty of it. For the most part, I try to remind myself to be so grateful to have two arms and two legs and a roof over my head.
Definitely the biggest change I’d wish I could change about myself is my tendency to catastrophize small events. This includes being too irrational in my thought patterns, and goes hand in hand with my anxiety.
When I say catastrophize, I mean it.
Anyone else absolutely break down over the smallest, most insignificant inconveniences?
I mean full-blown, panic attack, crying fits over events out of my control. Late for something? That’s okay! Give them a call and let them know and everything will be fine, these things happen!
Nope. think again.
Have a breakdown and hyperventilate while over thinking about how one tiny inconvenience like being late is going to burden everybody and have a domino effect on your whole day before it’s even begun.
Learning how to deal with my anxiety more effectively would benefit me greatly, and being able to redirect my self critical thoughts would give me such a boost in confidence and happiness.
I think that this was such an important blog homework to write about and discover! I’m already interested to see what you guys would change about yourselves, and let’s spread positivity and go get ‘em vibes!
Lots of love,
Akiramai
