So, I went to see The Lake House today. By myself. Please tell me I'm not the only person in the world to have seen a romantic movie in the theaters alone.

If you haven't heard of it, the movie is about a woman (Bullock) who moves out of the lake house she'd been living in for a while, and leaves a note in the mailbox for the next tenant asking them to forward her mail. This note is dated 2006. The next tenant (Reeves) moves into the house and finds the note and is thrown off by the date, as he received the note on the exact same date in 2004. As the film progresses, Reeves and Bullock are able to (seemingly instantaniously) communicate with each other across the 2 year time gap through letters and packages they leave for each other in the mailbox. As they learn about each other and share almost all of their lonely lives with their letters, they fall in love with each other. To say anything more would be spoiling what happenes, but suffice to say I highly recommend this movie.
On my way back home I wondered what, if anything, I would tell myself exactly two years ago. What about you? If you could write a letter for yourself that you would receive exactly two years ago today, what would it say?
Me? I would say "Enjoy it. Please cherish all the time you will spend with her."

Yes, Criterion does indeed make some snazzy front covers.
