The job interview went well today, got offered 3 separate jobs by the end. Now we have to decided (wifey and myself) on it, the problem is pay vs time vs distance.
Job offers (all from the same company):
Job 1: 8.60 / hr (40 hours a week), 20 miles each way but a good chance to move to 10.50 / HR in the next month, but not guaranteed. Also I would have to cross the Edison bridge, which in the winter would be nerve wracking. Total take home (before taxes) - 1,276 / month
Job 2: 9.50 / hr (40 hours a week), 20 miles each way, 50/50 chance for a dollar an hour raise in the next 6 months, all back country roads on the commute. Total take home (before taxes) - 1,420 / month
Job 3: 10.50 / hr (12-24 hours a week), 5 minutes from my house, with a potential to pick up 8-16 hours a week more at job 2. total take home (before taxes) - 504 to 1,162 (with hours picked up at job 2) / month.
Now the kicker, my interview today was about a 100 mile round trip drive, if I take any of these jobs I have to make that drive 3-4 more times before I ever get paid, and they don't pay for my time nor gas for that drive.
