Bitterness
Today I found out that a position at work that I was intent on acquiring is being given to one of my peers instead. It is entirely a political move to make things easier on my superiors, and it is not in the best interest of the company overall. However, it is not the fact that I am being passed over, or the fact that I am being passed over just to save someone from some extra paperwork that enrages me.
It is because I am far more qualified for the job, and not giving it to me is unethical and a violation of company policy.
So I am now torn. I want the job, and if I were to make enough noise I could probably secure it. However, I hate being one of those people who bitches to get their way. Also, by doing so, one of my superiors is likely to get fired. Do I care? Not really, but generally when someone does something of that nature they become something of a target, and rarely last very long.
So what do I do?
I have a few options, and I am waiting to hear back from a friend who happens to be a store manager at another one of our stores. She is willing to take me on, but its a hell of a drive and I dont know if she can give me the job I want. Also, another store manager in the district called me two days ago with a job offer, and told me if I want that she would take me in a heartbeat just to give her a call. Meanwhile I have a list of all the area stores and think I may call around and see if anyone has the position I want available, since my references and work file speak for themselves. I dont know what I will end up doing, but I am severely pissed off about this, and it is going to kill my motivation over the next few days.
Thanks for your time.

I think if you can make one of the other stores work for you...that would be cool. Getting a manager fired and all the ensuing crap is probably not worth the implications to your career there. On the other hand.. ethically he deserves to be punished in some way.
I'll call ya Saturday night about the movie.
i would bitch, just saying something will cast doubt
and fear is your ally
