NIN
So yesterday we went and saw NIN, and it was amazing. The discussion came up Thursday night at iLounge, and I was really wanting to go to this show since it was first announced. sweetnsassy2854 said she wanted to go, and Littlegirlgod was already going, so I decided to give it some serious thought.
Friday night after work we bought our tickets and set up to all ride down together. It was Littlegirlgod, Nave, SweetnSassy2854, Sandy (M's friend, not on the site I think) and myself. We met up and headed down, listenig to my awesome NIN mix in the car and consuming massive amounts of Vodka before the show.
Once inside, sweetnsassy2854 made our way to the front and awaited the appearance of QOTSA. I was kinda hyped to see them, its been a while since I have and they are one of those bands I completely forgot about. If I am not mistaken they are her favorite band, so the anticipation was seething out of us. I danced along through the whole set, only to find out later that a handful of people were moshing and I missed it. Oh well, I would just have to make it up during NIN.
After Queens I left SnS up front and went back to find everyone else. As I was walking back I distinctly remember thinking to myself that I was the most hardcore fucker in the place. Then I ran into my friend Aaron, whom I have probably seen at close to 500 shows in the last ten years, and was happy to see a little bit of my crowd there. I felt very at home.
NIN hit stage and I got the pit going. I did not leave through the set, and I forced everyone to mosh even during the slow songs. Alot of people cleared out at times, and I think I actually hurt a few people during HURT. I did notice about halfway through the set Aaron vanished, and I had no idea where he went. I was surprised he wasnt moshing with me, but didnt worry about it.
Turns out, he and my friend Jamie had another pit going somewhere near sweetnsassy2854 and for some reason wanted to mosh without me. They are both going to catch hell this week at either Danzig or Meshuggah, depending on which of those shows they show to. I didnt even know Jamie was there, and it turns out rachel did some severe damage to his ribs with her nails.
The NIN set was about an hour and a half, and it was really well played. I am a little sore this morning, but I dont think its from the moshing nearly as much as it is the dancing. The bruises from moshing havent started to show yet. After the show we went to City Club, where I havent been in a while, and to my delight I was there less than 5 minutes when I saw beware_marc.
Danced with mark and the girls a little but mostly I kicked back and listened to the awful sound system and watched alot of people I used to know walk by and give me confused looks, not certain I was who they thought I was. Some guy was kind enough to hand me a cup that was full of straight vodka, and I drank some of it, and it was pleasant. Nave brought me water as well, and my body was very happy to be consuming it.
After City Club we went and got food at Ram's Horn in Southfield. It was the worst service I could remember getting in a restaraunt in quite a while, but fortunately for our horrible waitress they include gratuity in the bill so she gets her tip anyway. Fucking Nazis.
All out, it was an amazing night, and it has my blood flowing. I cant wait til tuesday, when I get to mosh once more.
Thanks everyone who I went with, you are all amazing.

Look for the little monster online - search for "Fluffy, Destroyer of Worlds." It's funny.
