MOTHERFUCKING SNOW DAY!!!!!!!!!
That's right kids. It's the first snow day I've had in several years. And let me just say that I am Fucking Stoked!! Now I'm not usually one to jump on the "OMG IT'S SNOWING!!! LET'S MAKE SNOWANGELS!!" Bandwagon, but even I have been reduced to staring happily out my window like a wide eyed child experiencing snow for the first time that they can remember. That first time when it seemed magical and you didn't care that it froze your toes off when you played in it. Some kids have multiple moments of this: having snow balls fights, sledding, etc. Not me, I was too cold blooded (and I still am) to enjoy its fluffy goodness. I would get all bundled up to go out and play and after picking up about three tiny balls of snow in my little fists that were protected by shittastic fabric stretch gloves that come in two packs for $1.50 at WalMart, I would be too frozen and miserable to want to stay outside anymore. Thus, my generally underwhelmed response to the news that It Is Snowing.
But back to This Snow, it rained and sleeted all day yesterday and then when I woke up this morning, bright and early at 6.40 for my 8am test, I looked out the window and wondered to myself "hey why can't I see anything? .....Oh. That would be because of the WALL OF SNOW being poured upon us from the heavens. At first I was pissed until I heard that all classes were cancelled. Which was Just Swell since I totally didn't study enough for that test anyway. Obviously this is Mother Nature's way of thanking me for becoming more environmentally friendly this year by recycling, using only cloth bags instead of plastic ones when I go shopping, and refusing to use papertowels. Anyway, I was so excited to realize that this is officially Perfect Cloak Wearing Weather when it dawned upon me that I kind of sort of left my cloak in my trunk. But on the bright side, at least said trunk is in the parking garage, because every car outside the window is in a snow drift up to the bottom of its windows. Sucks to be them. It also sucks to be the little car stuck almost in the intersection of Main and University. Luckily most people aren't driving today though. I sat and watched the snow falling for a good 5 minutes and counted the cars. There were 6. Out of that 6, 5 of them were snow trucks. The other was, of course, the car stuck in the intersection. Apparently they didn't get the memo to Stay The Fuck Inside! Hopefully shit works for them. Maybe some nice person will come and help shovel them out. Unfortunately for them, that person will not be me. I'm a little to schadenfreude when it comes to people who do stupid things like drive when it's obvious that no one should be driving in this weather.
PS. I would like to apologize to all of the unfortunate people in St. Louis for my glee. I do realize that you are without power and that that must suck. A lot. I feel for you. Wait, you can't read this, you don't have power. Nevermind.
....Seriously though, I do feel for you.
