I wouldn't really call them punk, I'd be more inclined to say "rock & roll with a punk influence".

If you're a hardcore punk band, a death metal band, a ska band or whatever and all of a sudden you release an album and even a video of some slow love ballad because the music industry producer said it'll make you rich and famous, then you've sold out.

Two examples of sell outs are No Doubt and Sugar Ray. I've heard people say bands like Rancid and Bad Religion are sell outs. Why? They're still playing what they've always played. They're just finally getting the recognition they deserve.

The question is, what kind of bubble bath? My girl brought me some bubbles from England for Christmas -- the brand was called "Skin for Kissing."

Greendaywise, I have a certain affection for a band whose lead singer dropped out of my high school and who later lurked around my favorite town in the world, Berkeley.

That said, I think the punk sound has been so well appropriated by mainstream song manufactuers that in some cases, it's not the style of the music that's original anymore but the melodies and the lyrics. American Idiot smoke to me a thousand times more than their last few albums because of the progressive aspects of their lyrics, and their catchy as hell harmonies.
