Ok vague title right?
I went to an open house for another university for the jazz and music program which is better than the college I'm at currently.
They asked me "why do you want to study jazz" I said "bc I absolutely hate it" to which they were kinda shocked and a bit offended and then asked "so why do you want to study it if you hate it?" To which i replied,
"i would rather study something , question everything about it and get deeper into the why of it, in the end bc of that i think it will make me appreciate it more than just accepting it as is."
They seemed to like that answer, my guess is because it's not just the typical " it's my dream to play jazz/I've loved it since I was a kid/musicality aspect/brown nosing" answers they usually get.
I'm a realist so my honesty is blunt. š¤£š
