This is just a call to let you know
There's nothing on your shiny video
So throw away your teenage magazines
They sap away what little still remains of your self-esteem

Here's our day lost for awhile
We'll run towards the guns and go out in style
Here's your golden opportunity
If the TV says things that scare the shit out of you then...

Bloody hell, I feel rough. No wait, rough is an understatement. I feel like I've been eaten by a wolf and then spewed off a cliff. Not good. puke

Went to the Garage for the Saturday night headbanging fest with some mates and, inevitably, took rather over-generous advantage...

thanx for the welcome mate!
yeah, I think you're right about the whole teenage thing. it never seems to get any easier - the whole 'dating game' does it!!

I hope that thing goes okay for u. kind of nice of your friend to help u out like that! even if she is landing u in it a little.

btw - there isnt any kind of dodgy SGUK initiation ceremony I take it! eeek haha

Okay, that quote isn't in here 'cos I'm feeling maudlin about some lass (believe me, I've gone way past feeling stuff like that - continual rejection...

Hey, you're about the same age as me! When I first went to Jilly's in 92-3 they were still playing stuff like Tiger Tails, Faster Pussycat, Gene Loves Jezebel, Skid Row, RATT and Extreme. Not what you mean really, but it was pretty influencial pre-grunge cock-rock. Although the thought of actually finding some of their stuff brings me out in a cold sweat, I doubt they'd be any easier to get hold of!! wink v78 @_@

Happy New Year everybody!

So...tonight's proving to be a bit of a weird 'un. In between all these new messages suddenly landing in here, I'm also trying to do a couple of downloads ("We Built This City On Rock 'n' Roll" by Starship for pure cheese value and "18 & Life" by Skid Row for pure rrrrrrraaawwwwkkkk value).

New Year's Eve was...well...different to put it...

OK then so my last journal entry for 2003...

First and most important - having consulted numerous opinions, have decided to revert back to my original username of Yorkie. Well, let's face it, it's shorter and snappier, innit? wink

Secondly, a quick look back at 2003:

NEW YEAR'S EVE 2002

- Had girlfriend
- On verge of moving out of parental house.
- Employed in current...

You'd laugh if it wasn't so annoying. Last night, walking back to the bus stop from Joseph's Well where me and primate had been to see the latest addition to the Primitive Promotions roster (a Hundred Reasons-influenced group called Dub City), I was suddenly accosted by a rather nice-looking (if somewhat obviously townie) lass who'd stumbled out of a bar en route with her mates....

So I'm writing this first thing on Boxing Day morning, mainly through a lack of anything to do (same old Boxing Day eh?) Basically, there's no public transport so getting anywhere is going to rely on me scrounging a lift off someone which is a bit of a bugger. Dammit, I need a new car... frown

Well anyway, I had a good Christmas and I hope...

oooh the wonderful world of punk compilations...

i only saw 3 live gigs, but they were all fooking tops

1) steve-o (feb)= valentines day well spent in the company of a drugged up yank injuring himself for the pleasure of a large audience.

2) alkaline trio (sept) = all the stage presence of a loaf of bread, but the music was amazing

3) damien rice (oct) = biggrin love biggrin just about as close to buckley-esque brilliance my mortal soul will get to.
charley:
Hey you, had a lovely relaxing Christmas thank you for asking. Have to say I think I prefer Yorkie although BillyTwoRivers is unique. Know the feeling when it comes to having an identity crisis. Charlotta is my proper name, people call me Charlotta when I am in trouble or at the doctors...the rest of the time I am Charley but I feel a bit weird about changing it hmmmm

So I decided to rewrite this entry. Basically, the previous version was written in the very early hours after quite a few drinks and I thought it might be best to redo it. blush

So anyway, went pub crawling last night which quite feasibly very nearly killed me. Unfortunately, have been woken fairly early by my dog's version of the dawn chorus (ie barking at the...
