Patrick Norton, Roger Chang, and the luscious Veronica Belmont
Andy Ihnatko
iJustine and Robert Scoble recording each other, you know, just in case the dozen other live streams in the room failed to capture the moment.
Leo Laporte
Veronica Belmont and Cali Lewis. Yes I did take more than one picture with Veronica Belmont. I creepily hovered around her for most of the week.
Megan Morrone!
Merlin Mann was about as cool as I expected him to be; the fact that he was wearing a Lebowski shirt only further supports this.
I forgot my camera when I went to the Pownce party so I have no pictures of meeting Leah Culver, Kevin Rose, Sarah Lane, Dan Huard, Daniel Burka, and Heather Frank. Oh, and
d20, but nobody cares about him.
People I didn't meet but wanted to...
Steve Wozniak
For the second year in a row I missed out on meeting one of my heros. He was apparently signing books somewhere but I didn't know about it until after the fact.
Fake Steve Jobs. We were both at the Gizmodo party but I didn't see him, in fact I didn't see most people that were supposedly there.
John C. Dvorak. He bailed on the
This Week in Tech taping, and I so desperately wanted to bring up how it was 10 years ago this week that he said the January 1998 Macworld would be the last one.
Other TechTV folks. Martin Sargent, Morgan Webb, etc. I've met most of them now though.
Non-nerds and other miscellany...
The 12 Galaxies guy! Except, apparently there's a few more than that now.
This was about a half hour after the keynote, still under the effect of the reality distortion field. That smile gradually faded away.
If you're thinking of buying a diamond encrusted iPod you have too much money.
Panic M&M's!
Google socks!
Um, that's pretty much it. I spent 9 days in San Francisco and I didn't take any pictures of uniquely Bay Area things. This was my third trip though so I've done that all before.
cheers!
