New gaming PC! My wife’s additional husband was so very kind to assemble my new gaming PC, which is something he enjoys doing verses my complete lack of aptitude. 🛠️ I helped in that I held the flashlight. 🔦😄 Bottom right is first test light without the case fully built or cable managed—but fully functional at 11:59 p.m.! 🤩

Do you enjoy cozy horror movies that instead of a slow burn are a slow vise whose grip starts tightening on your soul from the start and slowly compresses the longer it goes? Then may I recommend the excellently directed The Dark and the Wicked, which is remarkably bleak—and good.

So in Starfield there’s a museum exhibit that explains the whole setting of the game very well. I think this should’ve been more prominently to the player, but once you find it, it’s inspiring! I want to play a TTRPG based in this setting now.

The name Valiphet is one I made myself. It’s a combination of words from Niuatopatapu, an extinct Pacific island language, and Samoan to mean “between the stars.”

Do you enjoy high concept low budget movies that are well written and directed, starring actors you’ve seen many times before but can’t quite place? Then may I recommend Alien Code, a time travel movie with a great beginning that then presents some great concepts. Good thriller.

Do you enjoy slow burn Australian folk horror films infused with dread that build to a climax? Then may I recommend Relic (2020) which has all that and more. Good direction and cinematography combine to make for a dark, cozy horror with tension.

Do you enjoy psychological thriller murder movies with twists? Then may I recommend Faithfully Yours, which is a touch convoluted but is entertaining nonetheless. And Dutch! Also, it had us going for a bit, certain about something, then surprised us. So, mission accomplished, eh?
