Do you enjoy ploddingly slow, dull movies with uninteresting characters and a ridiculous, brain-numbing plot (if it can even be said to have one really)? Then may I recommend Spaceman which I stopped watching at the one hour mark because I didn’t care a bit about anything happening on the screen and life is too short.

jacleric:
LMAO I enjoy your anti-recommendations.  Thanks for the warning.  Honestly, I would have seen the signs before watching.  I do love Carey tho.  She probably tricked you as well

Do you enjoy films that make you sad about war? Then may I recommend All Quiet in the Western Front (2022), which is everything you press play for: a graphic representation of the insanity of war. Top production, great acting.

Do you like by-the-numbers end-of-world movies set on a space station? Then may I recommend Rubikon, a medium-budget affair that’s put together well enough but is so formulaic that I’m not sure there’s a compelling reason to watch it. Unless you especially like that genre—which I do—in which case it’s fine.

anthurium:
Oh, this is one of my favorite genres!! I always watch even the most questionable ones to see if I can extract anything good hahahah thanks for sharing, I had never heard of this one!! I'll put it on my list!

Do you enjoy amazing movies that surround you? Then may I recommend DUNE Part Two. Everything about it was top filmmaking. Everyone behind the camera did really stunning, incredible work in all areas. Casting was perfect. We rewatched Part One the night before and it helped create a continuous event.

And may I insist you see it in IMAX, which was an extraordinary, full, rich,...

I gotta say, this feature works like actual magic and is kind of transformative. Example: one podcaster I like has AMAs that last for 2–3 hours but now I can quickly word search to find the start of each question and then read/listen to the topics I want easy peasy. Amazing.

Absolutely going to follow more podcasts since I can consume them significantly more quickly...

Do you enjoy big budget, big style, big violent, big action movies that are wholly dedicated to just one thing and do it supremely well with the best choreography on the best sets? Then may I recommend John Wick Chapter 4, a film so jammed with what you came for there’s no room for anything else, which is just what makes it slick, pro, and...

Do you enjoy movies that are boring? Then may I recommend Napoleon, a film clearly meant for Napophiles hard for 1700s French history—I’m neither. Movie has title cards amounting to “this event happened this year, remember?” No, I don’t. After 1.5 hours, IRL interrupted me but I’m not going back for the remaining 4 hours or whatever. *Who/why* is Napo? Even after those 10 hours...

I do like boring movies. And I do like Joaquin Phoenix, even though everyone I know hates him. But I don't think I'll watch this. Lol 😉 thanks for the heads up @abashima 🤘
